For the first time in two years, we have grass court tennis at Wimbledon. The first couple days haven’t been kind as rain has washed out much of the action, delaying a number of matches and postponing many others. Daniil Medvedev/Marin Cilic Over 36.5 Games (-110)
You might see Medvedev’s name and question why you’d want to play the over. Well, Cilic is an established name in his own right, and while his game has dropped off a bit over the last couple years, he’s seen some renewed form throughout this grass court season. Thus far, Cilic has posted a 93.3% hold rate, winning nearing 86% of his first serve points over 10 grass court matches in 2021. Cilic has won 72% of his career grass court matches (77-30), by far the most successful results of any surface. While Medvedev has now won his first grass court title, he may find some trouble with Cilic’s serve on the grass court surface, and Cilic’s forehand is one of the best in the business, and it has looked especially good over the last month. Cilic’s current level is good enough to pull off the upset, but in all likelihood, he needs just one set here for the total, and they could still get over this number in three sets if they play some tiebreaks.
