The Best NHL Prop Bets

Robert Thomas Assist

(-110, BetMGM)

Yes, we’re picking on the San Jose Sharks again. A friendly reminder that San Jose ranks second in the NHL in shot attempts allowed at 5v5/60 (69.98). As a result, they’ve coughed up the most shots, scoring chances and high danger chances, and the most goals, according to Natural Stat Trick. Robert Thomas has a team-high 10 points over the last two weeks and checks in riding a seven-game point streak. He has 11 points over that span, and six are assists. He’s hit the score sheet in 10 of his last 11 games. I included a few other NHL props and same game parlays from this game, but the Sharks have been really good to us for the most part. Jordan Kyrou leads STL with 64 shot attempts at 5v5, which is 33 more than the next closest player on the team (Brandon Saad).

Bonus

  • Brayden Schenn Point (-140, DraftKings)
  • Jordan Kyrou O 3.5 SOG (+100, DraftKings)
  • Pavel Buchnevich Assist (+110, BetMGM)
  • Jordan Kyrou Goal (+155, FanDuel)
  • Robert Thomas & Pavel Buchnevich Points (+115, Bet365)
  • Jordan Kyrou & Brayden Schenn Points (+130, Bet365)
  • Pavel Buchnevich & Jakub Vrana O 1.5 SOG (+125, Bet365)
  • Blues in 60 (-135, DraftKings)

Sidney Crosby Assist

(-105, BetMGM)

Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins enter Thursday on a five-game winning streak, and they’ve outscored their opponents 25-8 over that span. Crosby has 19 points in 14 games, which included a nine-game point streak. In fact, Crosby has at least one point in 13 of his 14 games this season. He’s dished out at least one assist in three straight games, six of his past seven and nine of his last 11 games. The Devils have lost three straight games and they’ll be without Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier again. New Jersey has coughed up 16 goals over those three losses. Timo Meier is also a game-time decision to play.

Bonus

  • Penguins Moneyline (-132, FanDuel)
  • Erik Karlsson Assist (-130, BetMGM)
  • Dawson Mercer Point (-105, DraftKings)
  • Sidney Crosby & Jake Guentzel Points (-120, Bet365)

Carter Verhaeghe Point

(-125, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Verhaeghe is straight up feeling it at the moment after a very slow start to the season. He’s been in the buy-low section of my fantasy hockey waiver wire articles, and I believe the window may be closed. He has goals in three straight games and four in his past five contests. Eight of his 12 points on the season have come over his last six games. He also has at least three shots on goal in 12 straight games. The -162 for three shots is a bit much to take, but let’s jump on him to pick up a point. I’m not sure what it is about the Los Angeles Kings on home ice, but they only have one win in seven games, compared to a perfect 7-0 start on the road. They have been outscored 27-17 at Crypto.com Arena this season. The Panthers come in having won five straight games and they’ve scored at least four goals in each of those wins. On top of that, we’ve seen at least seven goals in each of their last six games.

Bonus

  • Aleksander Barkov Assist (+115, BetMGM)
  • Anze Kopitar Assist (+140, Bet365)
  • Adrian Kempe Goal (+170, FanDuel)
  • Carter Verhaeghe Goal (+195, FanDuel)
  • Aleksander Barkov, Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Reinhart, Carter Verhaeghe Points (+350, Bet365)
  • Adrian Kempe & Anze Kopitar Points (+135, Bet365)
