Today’s Best Bets
St. Louis Blues ML
(-150, Bet365/BetRivers, 3 units to win 2 units)
St. Louis Blues -1.5
(+165, Bet365)
You can make a convincing argument that the Blues are the most confident team in the NHL right now. They are strong at both ends of the ice, but their offense in particular is completely dialed in. They have scored four goals or more in each of their last six games. It shouldn’t be too big of a surprise that all six of those games were Blues victories. For a team that had virtually no shot at making the postseason, they have catapulted their way to the final Wild Card spot and have a three-point cushion on the Canucks. I really like their money line here, but I’m also interested in some added value with the puck line.
Carolina Hurricanes -1.5
(-103, BetRivers)
The Predators have been the most lifeless team in the NHL this season. While they came into the season with super high expectations thanks to their free agent haul of Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault, they’ve fallen short of expectations and have fallen short by a wide margin. Nashville having a roster full of guys who have always made the playoffs just isn’t going to be sparking much passion throughout their lineup. On the other hand, the Hurricanes are surging — having won nine of their last 10 games. They’ve allowed two goals against or fewer in each of those nine wins and are playing with a ton of confidence. I’m tempted to up the unit size on this puck line as well, but we’ll just settle for a standard 1.03 unit bet to win 1 unit.
