Montreal Canadiens ML

The Habs have been one of the league’s biggest surprises. They are competitive every single night, largely because of the pure skill throughout their lineup. They are really leaning on their youngsters like Cole Caufield and Lane Hutson, who have been able to build confidence thanks to their recent success, and to be quite honest, they’ve all been put in situations to succeed. The Lightning are coming off of a hard-fought game last night against the Leafs, and while they will be starting their No. 1 goalie in Andrei Vasilevskiy, they are in a tough spot against a feisty Habs team that hasn’t lost a game that wasn’t part of a back-to-back in nearly a month.

Nashville Predators -1.5

Nashville’s 2024-25 campaign starring Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault has been a rocky one at best, but they are slowly showing some potential. Exactly one month ago, the Predators were still in the single digits in the win column, but they’ve been able to grind their way to a total of 16 wins with roughly half of the season left to play. While I give the Sharks more respect than the oddsmakers generally do, I don’t like their chances with their worst goalie scheduled to start, and this matchup against a Predators core that has defeated them 10 times in a row and 12 in their last 13.
