Week 3 recap | TopProp FTN Expert League

The results from Week 3 of the Expert League are below. Unlike the first two weeks, there were some closer margins of victory in Week 3, as three of the matchups ended up within 10 points while only two matchups could be considered blowouts with margins of victory over 20 points.

The big headline in Week 3 was the injuries to some fantasy-relevant running backs. Unfortunately, two of those running backs, and , both happen to be on my team. Slotting in and into my running back slots ahead of Week 4, it’s safe to assume that Joe’s Pleasant Team will not be part of the matchup of the week.

The other headline, as alluded to in , was that of Daniel Kelley tirelessly fighting for a win. Well, he got it after sneaking away with a 144.02-140.44 win over Ray Garvin. The winning streak starts now for Kelley.

The blowout of the week was very clearly the matchup between Jeff Ratcliffe and Nelson Sousa, as Ratcliffe routed Sousa by a nearly 70-point margin.

Last week’s matchup of the week featured Kevin Adams and Derek Brown. What was once a tightly projected matchup turned into an absolute bloodbath, as Derek rode the highs of , , and to a victory in triumphant fashion. Looking ahead to Week 3, Derek finds himself in the matchup of the week for the second consecutive time.

Week 4 Matchup of the Week | TopProp FTN Expert League

After the beat-down that Derek laid on his boss, he turns his attention to a fellow show-host, Chris Meaney. Like the matchup last week, the projections seem to think this is going to be a gritty battle that lasts until the final play of the weekend. As it stands at the time of writing, Meaney comes in as a 3-point favorite over Brown.

The TopProp oddsmakers feel differently, however, as Brown is favored by one in their system. Could this be because of his ceiling performance last week? Potentially, but these teams are as evenly matched as they come.

Even with likely missing this week for Meaney, having the option to slot in is a great way to counteract Brown, who is rolling out , and negating any production that Hurts acquires by the way of Smith. With expected back, plus matchups for players like , , and , I lean Meaney as the 1-point underdog here, especially considering the league site is favoring him by almost four points before he slots in Smith.
