The San Francisco 49ers will welcome in the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10 for a Sunday night showdown between two Super Bowl hopefuls. The Niners are getting healthy on the defensive end and have a loaded cast of characters to support quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on offense. If they can avoid the injury bug the rest of the year, they have a legitimate chance at a Super Bowl despite currently sitting in second place in their own division.
The Chargers, who also sit in second place in their division, have been bitten by the injury bug as well, particularly on offense. Star quarterback Justin Herbert has been without stud wideouts Keenan Allen and Mike Williams for a couple weeks now, so much of the load has fallen on Austin Ekeler’s shoulders. Luckily for Los Angeles, Ekeler has been up to the challenge and has helped keep the Chargers afloat at 5-3. They’ll need a balanced attack and a gritty defensive effort to keep up with the Niners as touchdown-underdogs, though.
