Los Angeles Chargers tight end Will Dissly made five catches in a Week 8 win over the New Orleans Saints. Dissly remained heavily involved in the passing game, seeing seven targets thrown his way, tied for the team lead. His five catches gained 41 yards. That's now three games in a row of at least five targets for Dissly, who has developed a high floor as part of the Chargers passing game. He should continue as a solid but unexciting TE2 option in Week 9 as the Bolts travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns.

Dissly did not participate during Wednesday's and Thursday's practice but returned to practice on Friday in a limited capacity which is a promising sign for his status this weekend. Last weekend, the 28-year-old tight end saw a hefty 11 targets and was able to bring in eight of them for a season-high 81 yards. With wideouts Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey also listed as questionable, the Chargers may lean heavily on their rushing attack facing one of the worst rushing defenses in football. Fantasy managers should expect J.K. Dobbins to be heavily involved on Sunday and be viewed as a high-end RB2.

Now, Dissly is in danger of missing Week 8 after back-to-back absences. If active, Dissly sneaks onto the TE2 radar against the New Orleans Saints. Otherwise, Hayden Hurst (groin) could be asked to take on a bigger role after he returned to practice on Thursday. However, Hurst hasn't done enough this season to earn the trust of fantasy managers.

Hurst suffered a groin injury in the team's Week 6 victory over the Denver Broncos, playing just seven snaps before exiting the contest not to return. He's yet to practice since picking up the ailment. Dissly, on the other hand, has, in turn, seen his snap counts spike over that period and put together an excellent performance his last time out despite dealing with an injury of his own. However, it's worth noting that he was able to log two full sessions leading up to the Chargers' loss to the Cardinals this past Monday night. This may be just a maintenance day for the 28-year-old veteran, but fantasy managers will want to monitor the former Seattle Seahawk's status after his breakout performance in Week 7. The only tight ends on Los Angeles' roster that do not carry a designation are Stone Smartt and Eric Tomlinson.

Those numbers were all good for first place in each category, as the next most targeted Charger (Ladd McConkey) saw seven balls thrown his way, making five catches. Dissly had made 13 catches all season entering this game, but he saw heavy targets as the Chargers tried to not rely on their running game for the first real time this season (it didn't work). Despite not scoring a touchdown, this might end up being Dissly's best fantasy performance of the season. Chasing points with him in Week 8 against the Saints is not likely a recommended strategy.
