Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels recently expressed his desire to continue improving as a player in 2025 on "Gruden Goes Long." "For me, last year was last year. That's great, but it's a whole new year now," said the 24-year-old. "I still got to go out there, I've got to prove myself to my teammates, the organization, each and every day that I'm getting better." Daniels took the league by storm in 2024, capturing Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and guiding Washington to its first NFC Championship appearance since 1991. Encouragingly, the LSU product refuses to rest on his laurels heading into his second year, and the Commanders are building around their young star. The offseason acquisitions of wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. and offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil already serve to boost Daniels' prospects. Furthermore, Washington can stock up on more talent in the draft later this week.

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was named the Offensive Rookie of the Year on Thursday. This doesn't come as surprise given Daniels had one of the best seasons for a rookie QB. He threw for 3,568 passing yards with 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 17 regular season games. He also got it done on the ground with 891 rushing yards and six additional scores with his legs. Daniels was a huge part of helping the Commanders make the postseason and the NFC title game. The 24-year-old should be in the MVP discussion for years to come.

Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels went 29-for-48 with 255 passing yards, a score, and an interception during their loss to the Philpaldeia Eagles in the NFC title game. Daniels added 48 yards and a score on six rushing attempts. Daniels would find his top wideout Terry McLaurin for a 36-yard TD pass in the second quarter. Then, in the third, Daniels would punch in his second score, this time on a 10-yard run. The Commanders were playing from behind throughout this entire offense but were unable to find much consistency on offense due to costly turnovers. The LSU product leaned on his tight end, Zach Ertz, in this game as he targeted him 16 times (season-high) and brought in 11 of them for 104 yards. After having a fantastic rookie campaign, Daniels and the Commanders were unable to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl. Fantasy managers should view Daniels as a high-end QB1 going forward, as he will likely be one of the first QBs selected in drafts in the offseason.
