The early prognosis on Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney (hamstring) is that the hamstring injury he suffered in the Week 11 blowout loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday is not serious, according to a source. Mooney could go for some testing on Monday, but the 27-year-old's injury comes at a good time with the Falcons heading into their bye in Week 12. Barring a setback with his hamstring once he resumes practicing, Mooney should have a good shot to be available for the team's Week 13 game on Dec. 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Before leaving on Sunday, Mooney caught two of four targets for only 27 yards on a day in which the Broncos defense completely shut down Atlanta's offense. Things probably won't get any easier for Mooney and the Falcons offense coming out of their bye in Week 13 against a stout Chargers D.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday's matchup with the Denver Broncos. The wideout entered Week 11 with a Achilles injury but was removed from the injury report. However, he hasn't done much to benefit fantasy managers despite his availability, catching just two passes for 27 yards. If the hamstring injury keeps him off the field for the remainder of Week 11, Kirk Cousins will likely lean more on Drake London, Ray-Ray McCloud III, and Kyle Pitts, with Bijan Robinson in line for more targets out of the backfield.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney (Achilles) has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 11 matchup against the Denver Broncos. There was some concern over Mooney's status after he was a limited participant in practice on Thursday. Although, Mooney doesn't appear to be dealing with anything serious as he has already been removed from the injury report. Mooney has been a solid fantasy option this season. He has five receptions for over 80 yards in each of the last two games. He does draw a tough matchup against the Broncos secondary, but fantasy managers should still be able to trust Mooney to produce as a WR3.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney (Achilles) popped up on the team's Week 11 injury report for the first time all year on Thursday and was listed as a limited practice participant. Mid-week injuries are usually bad news for fantasy managers, but Mooney still has another day of practice and could still be ready to play on Sunday to face the Denver Broncos in Week 11. If he's not, though, it would mean more targets for receivers Drake London and Ray-Ray McCloud III and tight end Kyle Pitts. Mooney has been outstanding in his first year in Atlanta in 2024, catching 46 of his 78 targets for 684 yards and a career-high five touchdowns, good enough to make him a top-10 fantasy wideout. The matchup against Denver on the road isn't a great one, but if Mooney is able to play, he should at least be considered a WR3/flex for fantasy lineups.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney was targeted 10 times on Sunday, catching five passes for 96 yards in the 20-17 loss to the Saints. The 27-year-old has caught five passes in three of the last four games and went over 86 yards receiving for the fifth time this season. Despite not finding the end zone, the fifth-year pro remains highly productive in this Atlanta offense, especially in PPR formats. The former fifth-round draft pick has 684 yards receiving thus far, which is sixth-most in the NFL and 35 more than teammate Drake London (649), while finding paydirt five times. Week 11 poses a challenge, however, as the Falcons travel to Denver against a strong pass defense. Mooney projects as a WR2 in that matchup.
