New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers looked sharp in a 24-3 win over the New England Patriots in Week 3's Thursday night game. Rodgers completed 27 of his 35 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns while adding three rushes for 18 yards in the win. The veteran quarterback threw touchdown passes to Allen Lazard and Garrett Wilson in the win, giving him five on the season. Rodgers has improved with each game this season as he gets further removed from a season-ending Achilles tear in Week 1 of the 2023 season. Even more encouraging regarding his Achilles was the 18 rushing yards as he came into the game with three carries for zero yards. Rodgers now has a few extra days to rest ahead of a Week 4 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 343 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception through the first two games of the season but has yet to throw for more than 176 passing yards in a contest. He will look to change that at home against the New England Patriots in Week 3's Thursday night game. The Patriots have been tough against opposing quarterbacks through two games, having allowed just one passing touchdown thus far. That being said, Rodgers is a talented enough quarterback to overcome difficult matchups but he still settles in as a mid-range QB2 heading into Week 3.
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 18 of his 30 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 2. Rodgers threw his first touchdown pass to Braelon Allen in the second quarter and then came back and found Breece Hall for a 26-yard touchdown in the third quarter. The win was Rodgers' first as the quarterback of the New York Jets and was a long time coming after he tore his Achilles tendon in Week 1 of the 2023 season. Rodgers has now thrown for 343 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception through his first two games of the season. He will have a short turnaround as the Jets face the New England Patriots on Thursday night in Week 3.
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for 167 yards and a touchdown in a Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The veteran signal-caller will look for more in a Week 2 road showdown against the Tennessee Titans. Tennessee's defense allowed the 19th-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks in 2023 and held Caleb Williams to 93 passing yards without a touchdown in Week 1 this year. That being said, the Titans defense should be a bit more forgiving opponent than the 49ers were, making Rodgers a reasonable fantasy option as a QB2.
On Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers played in his first game since suffering a torn Achilles in Week 1 of last season. The 40-year-old completed 13 of his 21 passing attempts for 167 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. It wasn't a great showing and he looked hobbled at times, but it could take him a few weeks to get in rhythm. On an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers alluded to getting wide receiver Garrett Wilson involved more moving forward. "I don't know how many targets he finished with, but we gotta up that number," Rodgers said. Wilson caught six of his 11 targets for 60 yards after being heavily involved early in the loss. Rodgers should be expected to attempt more than 21 passes in the coming weeks, so Wilson is in play to lead the league in targets any given week.
