Phillip Lindsay signs with Texans
Lindsay spent the three previous seasons with the Denver Broncos, where he earned two 1,000-yard seasons. However, in 2020, Lindays finished with just 502 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown in 11 games.
Fantasy slant: Well, this helps nobody. For as not-inspiring as David Johnson and Mark Ingram are at this point in their respective careers, both appear to be locked into roles in the Houston backfield, which will cap whatever upside Lindsay might offer. Lindsay has never topped 35 receptions or 241 receiving yards in an NFL season, so we shouldn't assume he's going to be much of a receiver in Houston either. But he's a better ball carrier than Johnson at this point. Best guess? Lindsay gets the early downs, Johnson gets the receiving work (he has at least 300 receiving yards in every season he's been healthy) and Ingram gets the mop-up/locker-room-hype-guy role. Better guess? Nobody here rises above "occasional flex play" status, and you can avoid the group. — Daniel Kelley
