New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson showed he could coexist with Davante Adams last week as he caught five of his nine targets for 61 yards while adding a two-point conversion catch in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He will look to stay involved in the offense against the New England Patriots on the road in Week 8. The Patriots have been mediocre against wide receivers this season, allowing the 13th-most fantasy points per game to the position. Wilson caught five passes for 33 yards and a touchdown back when these two teams met in Week 3 and can be utilized as a high-end WR2 heading into Week 8's rematch.
New York Jets running back Braelon Allen has become a forgotten man in the team's backfield in the two games since the team fired Robert Saleh and made Jeff Ulbrich the interim head coach. Allen has handled just eight touches in his two games since the coaching change as the new regime has focused on getting the ball to Breece Hall. The Jets draw a plus matchup against a New England Patriots defense that is allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to running backs but Allen should not be trusted in starting lineups despite the plus matchup.
New York Jets running back Breece Hall is in the midst of a fantastic two-game stretch as he's amassed 151 rushing yards, 159 receiving yards, and a touchdown over that span. He will look to stay hot in a road matchup against the New England Patriots in Week 8. The Patriots represent a plus matchup for Hall as they are allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to running backs in 2024. Hall is primed for a huge afternoon against the Patriots and should be treated as a top-three fantasy running back heading into Week 8.
New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard (chest) appears unlikely to suit up this Sunday when his team takes on their rival New England Patriots. The Iowa State alum picked up a chest injury at some point between Wednesday and the team's Week 7 37-15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Lazard participated in his lowest snap total of the season last Sunday night (33 [58%]). However, whether that was primarily due to his injury or the Jets' recent acquisition of star wide receiver Davante Adams is unclear. Still, his Week 8 status is of little surprise, considering he could not log even a limited session leading up to the outing against the Pats. Expect Adams to be more involved Sunday after another week with the team. Additionally, fellow wide receivers Mike Williams and Xavier Gipson should see an uptick in snaps to compensate.
New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard (chest) is considered a game-time decision for Sunday's tilt against the New England Patriots according to Connor Hughes of SNY. Lazard did not participate during Wednesday's and Thursday's practice which is not a good sign for his status. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor him throughout the weekend. The 28-year-old has enjoyed a nice start to the season as he has averaged 14.5 PPR points per game. Even with Davante Adams joining the wide receiver room, Lazard still saw a solid four targets last week. If he is able to play, he should be viewed as a WR3 facing the New England Patriots who have allowed the 19th-most PPR points to opposing wideouts this season.
