The New York Jets announced on Tuesday that they placed kicker Greg Zuerlein (knee) and safety Chuck Clark (undisclosed) on Injured Reserve, so they will not be available to play in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the division-rival Miami Dolphins on Sunday. The team also signed defensive lineman Phidarian Mathis and linebacker Jamin Davis to the active 53-man roster, signed offensive lineman David Sharpe to the practice squad, signed kicker Greg Joseph to the active roster and released kicker Anders Carlson. The Jets activated Zuerlein from IR last week, but he didn't attempt a kick in the Week 17 loss to the division-rival Buffalo Bills and apparently had a setback with his left knee. The 37-year-old veteran made only nine of his 15 field-goal opportunities and went 13-for-14 on extra points when healthy, so he'll likely be cut this offseason.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said on Monday that he expects quarterback Justin Fields (abdomen) to be active in the Week 18 regular-season finale on Saturday against the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals in a contest that has playoff implications for both teams. Fields has missed the last two games but apparently is feeling much better and should be available as starter Russell Wilson's backup this weekend. The 25-year-old former 11th overall pick by the Chicago Bears in 2021 out of Ohio State was Pittsburgh's starter for the first six games of the year while Wilson rehabbed a nagging calf injury. Since Wilson took over the starting gig under center in Week 7, Fields has attempted just one pass while carrying the football seven times for 58 yards (8.29 yards per carry) in four games. If Fields does return against Cincy, he probably won't be on the field much, if at all.

New York Jets kicker Anders Carlson has been waived by the organization on Monday. This doesn't come as a huge surprise given Greg Zuerlein (knee) was activated from the injured reserve over the weekend. Carlson was decent during his five games with the Jets. He connected on 8-of-10 field goals and missed two extra point attempts during his time in New York. The 26-year-old has decent potential, so we'll see if another team decides to scoop him up. Otherwise, Carlson will remain with Jets on their practice squad if he clears waivers.

New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard never had much of a chance to stand out on offense in the team's 40-14 blowout loss to the division-rival Buffalo Bills on Sunday in Week 17. That was especially true with quarterback Aaron Rodgers only attempting 18 passes on the day. Lazard was targeted just three times and caught one pass for a pickup of nine yards. Meanwhile, receivers Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson and tight end Tyler Conklin were all targeted eight times. The 29-year-old Lazard was the target on one of Rodgers' two interceptions on the day. He has not scored a touchdown since Week 6 and has caught only 34 of his 57 targets on the season for 459 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games in his second year in New York. Rodgers has good chemistry with Lazard, but the opportunities just aren't there behind Adams and Wilson. Lazard is off the fantasy radar for Week 18.

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein did not attempt any field goals or extra points in a 40-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 17. Zuerlein, who was activated from injured reserve earlier in the week after missing some time with a knee injury, stood by as the Jets attempted two-point conversions following their two touchdowns in the blowout loss. He will look for more work in the regular-season finale against the Miami Dolphins in Week 18.
