New York Jets Week 2 odds and betting picks

The New York Jets got their 2021 season off to a similar start that fans have become accustomed to over the last several years — with a loss. The Week 1 game in general was ugly, as they lost a 19-14 contest against their former quarterback Sam Darnold and the Carolina Panthers. Their secondary looked brutal and their run defense did nothing to help, though it’s hard to hold that against them when the opposing running back is Christian McCaffrey.

Turning their attention to Week 2 against a Patriots team hungry for its first win, are the Jets going to be able to get into the win column?

A look at various futures markets for the New York Jets

Zach Wilson Offensive Rookie of the Year odds

Zach Wilson’s Offensive Rookie of the Year odds are currently +800, slightly down from the +750 number that we saw ahead of Week 1 against the Panthers. The slight decrease in likelihood can be attributed to a rather rough first half, where he simply looked overwhelmed.

Jets to win the AFC odds

The Jets are currently +14000 to win the AFC on FanDuel Sportsbook, and there hasn’t been much movement at all. This is a number that likely won’t sway much one way or another from week to week, given the strength at the top of the AFC and the strides that the Jets have to make in order to establish themselves as a legitimate threat.

New York Jets betting trends

After posting the second-worst record ATS in 2020 (6-10-0), the Jets got 2021 off to a similar start, going 0-1 against the spread in a five-point loss to the Panthers. There was a glimmer of hope, however, as Zach Wilson and Corey Davis showed strong rapport in the second half of Week 1. If Wilson can replicate that type of play and avoid the mistakes he made in the first half, the Jets may have a shot at covering the spread in Week 2.

Jets betting picks – NFL Week 2

The Jets face the Patriots this week. Here is our full betting breakdown from this week.

New York Jets best bets

Below are the FTNBets picks against the total and spread, per the breakdown.

Because of the line movement on both the total and the spread, these lines are not available anymore. That said, the Patriots -6 still offers a similar amount of value, you simply get a push if they win by six instead of a win. The total is also still low enough (45) where the over feels like the safer bet.
