Tua Tagovailoa Has Efficient Outing In Heartbreaking Loss To Bills

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completed 25 of 28 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns in their 30-27 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. It was a second straight outing where the offense looked much improved from weeks prior. The Miami rushing attack created a lot of open space in the secondary for Tagovailoa to create chunk plays. In their previous meeting with Buffalo back in Week 2, Tagovailoa threw three interceptions. It was encouraging to see no turnovers from him against an excellent defense. This also marks back-to-back games where the former Alabama Crimson Tide finished with no turnovers, and the offense scored 27 points. With Miami now sitting at (2-6), they're more desperate than ever to get wins. Look for Tagovailoa to air the ball out next week when they travel to take on the Los Angeles Rams in a game that could be a shootout.

De'Von Achane Has Low-End RB1 Potential Versus Buffalo

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane is coming off his most impressive performance of 2024. The second-year back recorded 97 rushing yards on ten carries and caught six receptions on eight targets for 50 yards and a receiving touchdown. Now he gets a matchup against a Buffalo Bills defense that has allowed the second most fantasy points per game to running backs in PPR formats. Further supporting his case is his career average of 84.3 rushing yards and 31 receiving yards against his division rival. Temperatures are projected to drop into the 30s in Orchard Park on Sunday, which would likely mean the Dolphins try to run the ball heavily. With the offense now fully healthy, there should be plenty of soft boxes and room to run. He should be started in all fantasy lineups and comes into Week 9 as RotoBaller's 12th-ranked running back.

Tua Tagovailoa Best Left On The Bench For Week 9 Divisional Showdown

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is coming off a solid return last week vs. the Arizona Cardinals. He completed 28 of 38 passes for 234 yards and one touchdown, adding 13 yards on three rushing attempts. That being said, his outlook for Week 9 doesn't look as great. Miami will travel to take on their division rival Buffalo Bills, whom Tagovailoa has struggled against. In eight games against Buffalo, he's averaged 199.9 passing yards, 0.9 touchdowns, and 1.3 interceptions per contest. His passer rating also drops to 74.1 compared to the 96.4 career mark. Not helping matters is the fact that Buffalo's defense gives up the sixth-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. With temperatures projected to drop into the thirties in Orchard Park, that does not bode well for the passing attack. It's safe to say Tagovailoa should stay on the bench this week and comes in at number 18 in this week's RotoBaller quarterback rankings, making him more of a play in 2QB or Superflex leagues.

Jaylen Waddle Comes In As A Risky WR3 For Week 9

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle enters Week 9 having only scored 10-plus PPR points in one game in 2024. Even with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) returning to the lineup last week, he could only record four receptions on six targets for 45 yards. To add insult to injury, Waddle has yet to score a touchdown through seven games. This week presents a tough matchup against a Buffalo Bills defense that gives up the sixth-least fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. Waddle has been held to eight catches for 87 yards in the last two appearances against Buffalo. Making matters worse is the fact that temperatures are projected to drop into the thirties in Orchard Park on Sunday. It wouldn't be surprising if he has another disappointing performance this week. Despite the tough matchup, Waddle is WR27 in the latest RotoBaller rankings, making him a high-end WR3 against the Bills for Week 9.

Tyreek Hill Expected To Play In Week 9

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (foot) is expected to play on Sunday according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Hill was dealing with this foot injury last week but was able to suit up for the weekend's contest. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status over the weekend but should plan on inserting the star wideout in their lineup. Last weekend, Hill brought in 72 yards, his second-highest total since the season-opener. The 30-year-old should be locked into all lineups as a high-end WR1 going forward with Tua Tagovailoa back at the helm.
