Raheem Mostert Listed As Limited Again

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (chest) was listed as a limited participant in practice on Friday for the second day in a row. Mostert suffered a chest injury in the Week 1 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and has missed the last two games. However, with two limited showings this week, he could be on his way to returning for a Week 4 tilt on Monday night versus the Tennessee Titans at Hard Rock Stadium. Pain tolerance is the issue for the 32-year-old veteran, but he is optimistic he'll have a chance to play on Monday. Even if Mostert manages to be active against the Titans, he'll most likely be the No. 2 behind explosive back De'Von Achane, limiting his flex appeal in fantasy lineups, especially if he's eased back in. In the season opener, Mostert played 44% of the snaps (Achane had 52%) and produced just nine yards on six carries while catching two passes for 10 yards. Mostert is shaping up as an extremely volatile flex option in Week 4.

Michael Mayer Won't Be Available Against Browns

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer (personal) has been ruled out for the Week 4 contest on Sunday against the visiting Cleveland Browns. Mayer didn't practice due to a personal matter on Thursday and now will not be with the team at all this weekend. Top receiver Davante Adams (hamstring) has also been ruled out, so Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker now figure to be quarterback Gardner Minshew II's top targets in the passing game, as well as rookie tight end Brock Bowers. Harrison Bryant should have a bigger role behind Bowers with Mayer out, but he remains off the fantasy radar. Tucker is worth consideration as a WR4/flex play in deeper fantasy leagues with Adams officially out. It's unclear how long Mayer will be away from the team. The 23-year-old former second-rounder has taken a clear back seat to Bowers and has four catches for 21 yards through three games in 2024.

Raheem Mostert Limited As Week 4 Prep Begins

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (chest) was a limited participant in practice on Thursday. It was somewhat promising to see Mostert, who hasn't played since Week 1, get on the field in some capacity a full four days before Miami's game against the Tennessee Titans. Having Mostert available would be great for a Dolphins offense in need of playmakers amidst injuries to quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) and Skylar Thompson (ribs). All signs point to Tyler Huntley starting under center for Miami, and their best shot at defeating Tennessee might be running their offense through the rushing attack. De'Von Achane still remains atop the Dolphins' backfield, but a healthy Mostert might see enough volume to make him an RB3 in fantasy football. Managers should continue to monitor the injury reports and check to see whether Mostert gets an official designation on Saturday.

Geno Smith Should Have Another Start-Worthy Week

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith has a chance for a solid fantasy outing on Monday against the Detroit Lions. The Lions are 18th against opposing quarterbacks in fantasy in 2024. Their secondary has struggled to contain opposing wide receivers all season. The Lions are allowing 216.7 passing yards per game in 2024 and only 76.7 rushing yards per game. They are the definition of a pass funnel. Smith has been solid in 2024. His two interceptions in Week 3 were a result of fluky plays that were not necessarily Smith's fault. He is starting to round back into his 2022 form after a disappointing 2023 season. This is a great game for Smith to fully hit his stride. There should be plenty of points to go around as two talented offenses clash. If you need a start in Week 4 then you could do a lot worse than Smith.

Brock Bowers Quiet In Raiders Upset Loss

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers had his least productive game of the 2024 season, being targeted just four times and catching three passes for 41 yards in Sunday's 36-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers. It was a negative game script for Bowers. The wide receivers were much more involved in the passing game, likely due to the score getting out of hand quickly. The Raiders were losing 21-7 at the half, and Bowers hasn't been a serious deep threat yet. In closer games, he's likely to have games more like his Week 1 and 2 efforts, where he logged more targets, receptions, and yards. Bowers is still a must-start. He's a rare bright spot in a dismal tight end landscape and still leads the position group in receptions while being second in yards. The Raiders face the Browns, Broncos, and Steelers in their next three games, which should be closer so Bowers could quickly rebound.
