Travis Kelce To Face Stout Denver Defense In Week 10

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will take on the Denver Broncos in Week 10. Kelce is coming off a season-best performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9. The veteran tight end had 14 catches on 16 targets for 100 yards in the 30-24 overtime win. Kelce will transition from facing one of the most favorable matchups to one of the toughest. The Broncos rank 10th in fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends this season, so Kelce will have his work cut out for him. That said, Kelce is among the few elite tight ends with a strong guaranteed workload every week. Kelce is ranked TE2 in our RotoBaller Half-PPR rankings this week in a difficult matchup, but fantasy managers should feel great about starting him every week.

Patrick Mahomes Off The Injury Report, Has Difficult Matchup In Week 10

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) will take on the Denver Broncos in Week 10. Despite rolling his ankle in Monday's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he was a full participant in practice this week. The 29-year-old was removed from the injury report and has been cleared to take on Denver. Mahomes is coming off his best fantasy performance of the season, passing for 291 yards and three touchdowns against the Buccaneers. The Buccaneers defense has allowed huge performances to opposing offenses all season, so this week will be more challenging for the Chiefs quarterback. The Denver Broncos rank sixth in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks this season, making them one of the toughest matchups. Mahomes has been trending up in the past few weeks, and that trend could continue as he builds more chemistry with DeAndre Hopkins. Mahomes found himself on the injury report earlier this week with an ankle injury but practiced fully all week and does not have an injury designation for the game. Mahomes is ranked QB10 in our RotoBaller rankings this week, making him a low-end QB1 in this matchup. Given his recent success, fantasy managers should start Mahomes this week but temper expectations in a difficult matchup.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Ruled Out For Week 10

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of the Week 10 matchup against the Denver Broncos. The veteran wideout will now miss his third game in a row due to a lingering hamstring issue. Smith-Schuster was unable to practice all week, so the fact he has been ruled out shouldn't come as a surprise. His role is likely to decrease in the offense once he is back to full health. DeAndre Hopkins has stepped up and become the No. 1 wideout for this offense. Also, Xavier Worthy is still going to be involved, so Smith-Schuster is unlikely to be reliable once he does return.

Kareem Hunt Practices In Full On Thursday

After being limited in Wednesday's practice, Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt (quadriceps) returned to a full practice a day later on Thursday. Hunt was also limited by a quad injury last week but ended up playing in the Monday night overtime win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and went over 100 rushing yards with the walk-off touchdown. There shouldn't be any concerns over whether the 29-year-old will suit up as KC's lead back for a big divisional matchup against the visiting Denver Broncos. The Broncos defense has been pretty stingy against RBs in 2024, but they did give up over 100 rushing yards and two scores to Ravens RB Derrick Henry in Week 9. Because of significant volume that he's been receiving as the Chiefs' lead back with Isiah Pacheco (leg) on Injured Reserve, Hunt has been a solid RB2 for fantasy managers.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Remains Sidelined On Thursday

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) is still out of practice on Thursday leading up to Sunday's matchup with the Denver Broncos. The former Pittsburgh Steeler and New England Patriot has not played since Week 5, and he's looking likely to be out again in Week 10. In his absence, K.C. traded for DeAndre Hopkins, who has taken over the clear WR1 role. When Smith-Schuster finally does return, he could have very little fantasy value. If he surprisingly plays this week, he is not worth starting except in 16-plus team leagues against a Denver Broncos defense that has surrendered the 8th-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers.
