Giants sign TE Kyle Rudolph, fantasy impact

The New York Giants added a second tight end, agreeing to terms with ex-Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The 31-year-old Rudolph had spent his entire 10-year career with Minnesota until his release earlier this offseason, making the Pro Bowl in 2012 and 2017. The team’s acquisition of Irv Smith in the 2019 NFL Draft made him expendable, and now he heads to New York, where he’ll likely operate as the No. 2 to incumbent starter Evan Engram.

Fantasy slant: After spending his first 10 seasons in Minnesota, Rudolph now heads to New York to play with the Giants. Rudolph wanted to be used more in the passing game but it is fair to wonder how much he'll be utilized with the Giants, especially if Kenny Golladay joins the team. Perhaps Engram, who has had trade rumors circling around him as of late, could be on the way out, and New York is paying Rudolph a hefty amount of money. If Engram is gone, Rudolph could find himself on the tight end streaming radar in fantasy. — Adam Pfeifer
