Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee) will suit up for Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Njoku returned to action last week, but he couldn't make it through the whole game. He finished with one reception on three targets for 14 yards before exiting. Njoku missed time in the beginning of the season due to an ankle injury. Now, Njoku appears to be healthy and ready to get back on the field. There is no word of him being limited, so fantasy managers should expect Njoku to be a full-go for Sunday. He should be considered a low-end TE1 for Week 6.

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle, knee) returned to practice on Thursday and was limited after sitting out of Wednesday's session. Njoku returned from an ankle sprain in the Week 5 loss to the Washington Commanders for the first time since the season opener and caught just one of his three targets for a 14-yard gain. The 28-year-old picked up a knee injury in his return to action, but his return to practice on Thursday suggests he'll have a shot to play in a second straight game in Week 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, a banged-up Njoku potentially playing limited snaps in what has been an ugly Browns offense shouldn't really excite fantasy managers all that much. In the Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys before Njoku injured his ankle, he caught four of his five targets for 44 yards and no touchdowns. At best, Njoku will be a low-end TE1 in fantasy if he's active this Sunday.

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee, ankle) was absent from practice on Wednesday. The talented tight end finally returned from an ankle injury in Week 5, but within mere minutes, he picked up a new knee injury. Njoku has yet to play a full game this season, and Wednesday's practice status suggests that he could end up being sidelined for Week 6, too. If that's the case, Jordan Akins will step up as the Browns' top tight end, ranking as a mid-to-low TE2 in fantasy football.

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee) is expected to practice on Wednesday after suffering a knee injury in the Week 5 loss to the Washington Commanders. The former first-round pick out of Miami worked his way back from a high-ankle sprain to return to the Cleveland lineup but exited Sunday's contest early. However, the Browns just released reserve tight end Blake Whiteheart, an indication that Njoku might be ready to play in Week 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Whether Njoku plays in Week 6 or not, he's likely to be somewhat limited by his two lower-body injuries, and the Eagles have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends this season. He still might be worth starting given the scarcity of the tight end position, but his floor and ceiling are low in Deshaun Watson's putrid passing offense.

The Cleveland Browns released tight end Blake Whiteheart on Tuesday, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. Whiteheart went undrafted out of Wake Forest in 2023 and spent time with the Arizona Cardinals last season before signing with Cleveland's practice squad this summer. He has been active recently in the absence of David Njoku and caught three of his four targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in four games this season. Njoku suffered a knee injury in his return to action in Week 5, so Whiteheart's release could be an indication that his injury is not considered serious. Whiteheart was not on the fantasy football radar before his release and, it would be surprising if he enters it any time soon.
