Carolina Panthers rookie running back Jonathon Brooks (knee) was limited in Friday's practice but has been ruled out and won't make his NFL debut this weekend versus the Washington Commanders. Brooks made his return to practice for the first time this year on Wednesday while recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered last November while playing in college at Texas, so the 21-year-old wasn't realistically expected to play in Week 7. However, the 46th overall pick in this year's draft (the first RB off the board), could become a big part of Carolina's backfield alongside Chuba Hubbard later this year once he gets up to speed. Brooks will need to make more progress in practice next week to have a shot to make his debut for the Panthers in Week 8 against the Denver Broncos. He's worth stashing in all fantasy leagues.

Carolina Panthers tight end Tommy Tremble (concussion) upgraded to a full participant in practice on Thursday. He had been limited on Wednesday, so this development should be considered a step in the right direction. One would have to imagine that Tremble will clear concussion protocol in time to suit up for Week 7 against the Washington Commanders. He'll presumably re-enter the Panthers' offense as their No. 2 tight end behind Ja'Tavion Sanders, keeping him off the fantasy radar in most leagues.

San Francisco 49ers kickers Jake Moody (right ankle) and Matthew Wright (shoulder, back) were absent from Thursday's practice. As the Niners prepare to battle the Kansas City Chiefs next weekend, they could be without both of the kickers on their roster. Moody was injured in Week 5, and now his replacement, Wright, is on the injury report after getting banged up while making a tackle in Week 6. It's starting to look like both Moody and Wright will miss Week 7, which would force the 49ers to use their third kicker in three weeks. Presumably, that replacement option would be Anders Carlson, who went 27-for-33 on field goals and 34-for-39 on extra points with the Green Bay Packers in 2023.

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks (knee) did not practice on Thursday following his limited practice session on Wednesday. The rookie out of Texas had his practice window opened this week, but the belief is he will not make his NFL debut on Sunday against the Washington Commanders. Brooks is coming off a torn ACL, and with the Panthers sitting a 1-5 through Week 6, there's no reason to rush him into action. Additionally, Chuba Hubbard has been excellent in the RB1 role, so the team isn't in dire need of running back production. Fantasy managers should follow his status through the rest of the week, but a Week 8 or Week 9 return seems more realistic for the first RB taken in the 2024 NFL Draft.

San Francisco 49ers kickers Jake Moody (ankle) and Matthew Wright (shoulder) were both listed as non-participants in the team's first practice of the week. In a bizarre occurrence, the 49ers have had a kicker get injured in back-to-back weeks while attempting a tackle on a kickoff return. It's not much of a surprise that Moody missed another practice as he was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain he picked up in San Francisco's Week 5 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. However, Wright's designation is worth noting after the MRI he received on his shoulder last Friday came back clean. The hope is that the 28-year-old will be healthy enough to play in the team's Week 7 tilt against the Kansas City Chiefs. If Wright can't suit up, the 49ers have signed kicker Anders Carlson to their practice squad as his replacement.
