Chuba Hubbard Has Bounce Back Week Against Eagles

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard re-established himself as a premier 2024 halfback in Week 14, rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on 26 attempts and tallying four catches for 15 yards in Sunday's 22-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. With rookie Jonathon Brooks (knee) leaving the game in the first quarter, Hubbard took on the full spectrum of backfield workload, coming two carries shy of his season high. While the extent of Brooks' injury is unclear, one could expect Carolina to be very cautious with him as we enter the season's final stretch. Following a gauntlet of tough run defenses, Hubbard and company will face a reeling Dallas squad in Week 15, ranked 27th against running backs.

Bryce Young Leads Near Upset In Philadelphia

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 55% of his pass attempts for 191 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in a 22-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Young also added 29 rushing yards on seven attempts. For the most part, Young continued to look poised and confident, a recent development for the second-year quarterback. On 3rd-and-11 from Carolina's two-yard line, with 2:43 left in the fourth quarter and down six, he delivered a strike on a scramble drill play to Xavier Legette to keep the Panthers' hopes alive. Later that drive, Legette dropped the potential go-ahead touchdown with under a minute remaining. While Carolina has no postseason aspirations, the front office will closely monitor the play of their quarterback, who takes on Dallas in Week 15.

Jonathon Brooks Will Undergo Additional Testing

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks (knee) has pain in his knee and will undergo additional testing in order for medical personnel to determine the extent of his injury, head coach Dave Canales told the media after Sunday's Week 14 loss. Brooks suffered a non-contact injury during the first half and was quickly ruled out. He finished with just one carry for a loss of three yards. It's a concerning sign for the rookie, especially given his injury history. Brooks tore his ACL during his final season at the University of Texas, and that injury delayed his NFL debut until three weeks ago. Brooks, the Panthers, and fantasy managers will brace themselves for his diagnosis and hope that he's not headed for yet another lengthy absence. In the meantime, Chuba Hubbard will operate as the Panthers' primary running back.

Jonathon Brooks Not Expected To Return In Week 14

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks (knee) isn't expected to return to Sunday's game against the Eagles. The rookie wasn't involved long, amassing only one carry for negative yardage before going down with a right knee injury. He spent most of the year working his way back from a right knee injury suffered at the collegiate level. However, things don't look promising for Brooks, considering he went down in Week 14 with a non-contact injury. Fantasy managers are obviously hoping for the best. But with Miles Sanders (ankle) on the IR and Raheem Blackshear (chest) questionable to return, Chuba Hubbard could be busy for the rest of the contest.

Jalen Coker Officially Ruled Out For Week 14

Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Jalen Coker (quadriceps) is officially inactive for the Week 14 game against the hosting Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Coker was listed as doubtful on the team's final injury report on Friday, so this doesn't come as much of a surprise. The 23-year-old wideout has not played since injuring his quadriceps muscle in Week 10 and will now try to get himself healthy for a Week 15 tilt against the Dallas Cowboys. Coker had a full practice on Wednesday but then was downgraded to limited and downgraded again on Friday with a DNP, signaling he may have suffered a setback. Coker hasn't really been a realistic starting option for fantasy managers in his first year in the NFL, but his absence will keep David Moore on the WR4/5 radar for desperate fantasy managers as he works as the WR3 behind Adam Thielen and rookie Xavier Legette.
