AFC Super Bowl Odds

The Chiefs were dominated from start to finish last night but still find themselves in a three-way tie along with the Ravens and the Bills as the favorites to come out of the AFC. All three teams have a strong case to be priced as the favorites in the conference led by MVP quarterbacks with consistent track records of success. What jumps out the most is the Bengals, checking in with the fourth-shortest odds to come out of the AFC despite missing the postseason entirely. Cincinnati’s defense was abysmal last season, but its offense was among the best in the league, led by the Comeback Player Of The Year Joe Burrow and the sixth triple-crown winner in the Super Bowl era, Ja’Marr Chase. Still, all four teams ended the regular season inside the top eight in DVOA on offense, but only the Bengals finished outside the top-12 on defense, checking in at 26th (6.4%) overall.

NFC Super Bowl Odds

The Eagles have the shortest odds across the league to repeat as champions, coming off of one of the most dominant performances in Super Bowl history. Per Aaron Schatz, Philadelphia’s -163% defensive DVOA in the first two quarters was the best ever in a Super Bowl – they ended up finishing fourth all time (-73%). The Birds ended the regular season ranked No. 1 overall in DVOA on defense (-16.2%) as well and are looking to run it back again in 2025. Detroit has the second-shortest odds of coming out of the NFC after finishing tied with the Chiefs for the best record in the NFL last season (15-2). The Lions have been a force to be reckoned with the last two seasons but will have their work cut out for them after losing both of their coordinators. Although they missed the playoffs in an injury riddled year, the 49ers have the fourth-shortest odds of coming out of the NFC after making the conference championship twice over the last three seasons.
