Zach LaVine A Full, Willing Participant In Bulls Voluntary Workouts

Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine has been in the middle of the rumor mill for a couple of seasons already, but it seems like he hasn't let that keep him away from team activities. According to Darnell Mayberry of the Athletic, LaVine is buying into the voluntary workouts and the player-led minicamps throughout the offseason. LaVine and the team are still working on trade options, but he's working to be an asset to his teammates in the meantime. He was present and a full participant when the team traveled to Miami for workouts, and when they went back to Chicago for some practices before training camp started. If LaVine stays on the Bulls for a portion of this coming season, he's likely to get plenty of offensive opportunities after DeMar DeRozan departed for Sacramento.

Jae Crowder To Work Out With Kings This Week

Free-agent forward Jae Crowder is scheduled to have a workout with the Sacramento Kings this week, per Sean Cunningham of Fox 40. The Kings have also recently worked out Isaiah Thomas, Tony Bradley, Juan Toscano-Anderson, and Lonnie Walker IV. Crowder is a free agent after playing out two seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. As a veteran of over 800 regular-season games, he would bring a wealth of experience to a Kings team that's looking to become a contender in the West. But fantasy-wise, the best days are clearly behind Crowder. He posted 6.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 23.1 minutes last season.

Bulls Looking To "Mend" Relationship With Zach LaVine

Chicago Bulls guard/forward Zach LaVine looks set to remain in the Windy City for the start of 2024-25 despite being one of the biggest names in trade rumors this offseason. No deal to move LaVine has materialized, and Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times has now reported that the Bulls are "working on mending their relationship" with LaVine. The two-time All-Star will look to produce a bounce-back campaign this season after averaging fewer than 20 points for the first time in six years last term. He looks well-placed to get back to his best, with DeMar DeRozan moving to Sacramento, which should allow LaVine to play a bigger role offensively.

Lakers Reportedly Interested In Jonas Valanciunas

New Orleans Pelicans center Jonas Valanciunas is expected to move on from Louisiana as a free agent this summer and has been linked with the Los Angeles Lakers. According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, Valanciunas has been "often mentioned by NBA figures as a potential Lakers frontcourt addition." It was recently suggested that the Lakers are looking to pick up a center this offseason to give Anthony Davis more minutes as a power forward. Valanciunas, who celebrated his 32nd birthday last month, is coming off a disappointing season. After averaging a double-double in five consecutive campaigns, the Lithuanian big man was limited to 12.2 points and 8.8 rebounds in 23.5 minutes.

DeMar DeRozan's Future in Chicago In Doubt

Chicago Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan has been expected to re-sign with the team this offseason, but there might be a twist in the tale. "One of the loudest questions bouncing around the league at the minute is thus: Will DeRozan be more available in free agency than expected now once the marketplace officially opens on June 30 at 6 PM ET?" writes NBA insider Marc Stein in a recent Substack post. "Likewise: Will DeRozan even want to return to the Bulls?" The Bulls have just made a big move by trading Alex Caruso to Oklahoma City for Josh Giddey, and it could affect DeRozan's mindstate regarding a potential extension. The 34-year-old has crushed it in Chicago over three seasons, averaging 25.5 points,4.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists. DeRozan's fantasy stock might take a hit with a move elsewhere.
