Utah Jazz forward/center John Collins (knee) won't play in Wednesday's game against the Nuggets. The veteran was initially labeled as questionable because of a knee contusion. Unfortunately, he was downgraded to out. The Jazz will be down some size versus Nikola Jokic, with Lauri Markkanen (personal) and Kyle Filipowski (leg) already ruled out. As a result, Walker Kessler could see more work than usual. Drew Eubanks and Brice Sensabaugh should also get more scoring chances.
Utah Jazz forward John Collins (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's contest with the Denver Nuggets due to a knee contusion. With Lauri Markkanen(personal) andKyle Filipowski(leg) already ruled out, the Jazz could be quite shorthanded if the 27-year-old can't play. However, if he can give it a go, Collins could have significant fantasy value as he will be relied upon heavily with Markkanen sidelined.
According to Evan Sidery of The Sporting News and Forbes, the Utah Jazz are anticipated to "shop" forward/center John Collins this offseason. Collins has two years left on his current deal, which will pay him nearly $27 million per season and includes a player option. The 26-year-old played 68 games for Utah in 2023-24 after spending six years with the Hawks. Unfortunately, he averaged only 15.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists, considerably lower than his best season in 2019-20. At any rate, there's a chance teams around the league will be interested in acquiring him. However, it appears Collins is past his prime, although he could play better with a new team during the 2024-25 campaign than in the last few seasons.
Utah Jazz forward/center John Collins (back) has been ruled out for Friday's contest against the Clippers. He will miss a seventh consecutive game with back spasms. Omer Yurtseven has taken over as Utah's starting center. He's averaging 8.6 points and 8.2 rebounds in the role. The Clippers give up the eighth-most rebounds in the league to opposing centers, giving Yurtseven a good opportunity to battle for a double-double in Friday's matchup.
Utah Jazz forward/center John Collins (back) is officially ruled out for Thursday's game against the Houston Rockets. Collins will miss his sixth consecutive game after back spasms started limiting his availability. Utah falling out of playoff contention led them to play it safe with Collins and other banged-up players sitting out. Brice Sensabaugh has benefited the most from Collins' absence, with averages of 13.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game in the previous five games. Luka Samanic, Taylor Hendricks, and Omer Yurtseven all have increased fantasy value with Collins and multiple other frontcourt players out on Thursday.
