Matchup to Target | NBA DFS First Look

Below are two matchups that I intend to target as core plays on Sunday.

Jordan Poole vs. Washington Wizards

After another 22-shot performance last game against the Hawks, Jordan Poole has maintained his alpha status in the absence of Stephen Curry. In nine games without Curry this season, Poole has averaged nearly 41 DraftKings points per game on the back of a 29.52% usage rate, 26.0 points and 5.56 assists per game. He’s averaged over 36 minutes per game in these games and now gets a matchup against a Wizards team that ranks 28th against primary ball-handlers. His price has dropped $200 since last slate, and he makes for arguably the strongest mid-tier option on the entire slate.

Robert Williams vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

In nine games without Al Horford this season, Robert Williams has averaged a double-double (12.11 points and 11.11 rebounds per game) while seeing over a 10% uptick in playing time, averaging more than 34 minutes per game. He’s averaged over a fantasy point per minute (37.91 DK points per 36 minutes) in this scenario while leading the team with a 16.8% rebounding rate and a respectable 11.3% assist rate for a big man. This is a massive pace-up spot against an exploitable frontcourt and a team that offers a ton of upside in terms of peripheral and stack production. Given the uptick in production, minutes and the enticing game environment, Williams is my big man of choice on Sunday.
