NBA Best Bets of the Day (1/31)

Although we have a smaller NBA slate Tuesday with just five games, we do have a lot of star power with a bunch of recent NBA MVPs in action. The Bucks and Sixers are both heavy favorites at about double-digit odds, so I am a little worried about playing some of the overs for the stars on those teams. Even our NBA player prop tool did not point to many upside plays for either team. I was able to find three best bets that I do like, so let’s talk about them.

Best NBA Spread Bet

New York Knicks -1.5

(-108, FanDuel Sportsbook)

The Knicks get the Lakers at home. LeBron James missed Monday’s game and is likely not going to be 100% even if he does play Tuesday. Anthony Davis also sat Monday but is expected to be in uniform. With both guys healthy and playing I would expect this spread to be where it is. With LeBron less than 100% and with a chance he could sit out, this feels like too few points. The Lakers are just 9-12 on the season with LeBron and Anthony Davis in the lineup. They just really are not as good as the respect they get in the betting markets.

Best NBA Points Prop Bet

Brandon Ingram Over 21.5 Points

(-105, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Brandon Ingram topped this in his last game, but I think that is just the beginning. Ingram is being brought back slowly from an injury, but the minutes and his production keep rising. Ingram has been unbelievable inefficient shooting below 25% in his first game and only about a third of the shots he took last game. This is not an easy matchup, but Ingram should see his minutes continue to rise and his efficiency improve. A healthy full minutes Ingram would have a scoring prop a few points higher, so I want to hop on now before he gets back to his old levels.

Best NBA 3-Point Prop Bet

Terry Rozier Over 2.5 Threes Made

(-130, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Terry Rozier has one of the best matchups for shooters against the Milwaukee Bucks. Knocking down outside shots has always been the way to score against their big, long interior defense if you can. Over the last six games, Rozier has averaged over 10 3-point attempts per contest and hit at least 3 in five of his last six games. It makes sense that his number is juiced up, but it’s still a great play.
