According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Mavericks are trading guard Luka Doncic (calf), forward Maxi Kleber, and forward Markieff Morris to the Lakers. In exchange, Dallas will receive forward/center Anthony Davis (abdomen), guard Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round draft pick. Utah was also involved, with the Jazz receiving guard Jalen Hood-Schifino and picks. In what is one of the biggest trades in the history of the National Basketball Association, Doncic will head to Los Angeles after spending his entire career in Dallas. In 422 regular-season games, the 25-year old has averaged 28.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, 8.3 assists, and 1.2 steals. Without question, the 25-year-old is an MVP-caliber player. However, he's had trouble staying healthy through the years. If Doncic can remain on the floor, he could thrive playing alongside LeBron James. But first, he'll need to get cleared after injuring his calf in the Christmas Day loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Gabe Vincent (knee) will be available for Saturday's game against the New York Knicks after missing the previous three games due to a left knee contusion. Before his injury, Vincent played six straight games with at least 23 minutes on the court, showing he could contribute in a key role for the Lakers. He's expected to play his typical back-up role off the bench, and with Anthony Davis (abdomen) out, the Lakers will be looking for as much production as possible from other players against a tough Knicks team.

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (foot) will play in Saturday's game against the New York Knicks. In his last outing, he scored 24 points and dished out 11 assists, showing he's still in top form no matter how much he ages. With Anthony Davis (abdomen) sidelined again, James will be asked to carry more of the offensive load. Averaging 23.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 9.0 assists this season, he's always a triple-double threat when he is on the court.

Los Angeles Lakers forward/center Jaxson Hayes will take Anthony Davis' (abdomen) starting position in Thursday's game against the Washington Wizards. Davis has been ruled out for at least a week, meaning Hayes should receive multiple opportunities to start in the upcoming games. Hayes has averaged 6.0 points and 8.3 rebounds in 28.7 minutes in his previous three starts this season. The Wizards allow the most fantasy points in the league to centers, so Hayes should be more productive on Thursday if he receives enough playing time. Jarred Vanderbilt and Christian Koloko will provide backup at the center position.

Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura (calf) will be available against the Washington Wizards on Thursday. He has received an upgrade from a probable status to available ahead of tip-off. Hachimura returned from a calf problem on Tuesday against the Philadelphia 76ers, scoring a very efficient 13 points and grabbing a pair of rebounds. With Anthony Davis (abdomen) out, Hachimura will have an opportunity to take on a larger offensive role against his former team in Thursday's game.
