Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland (toe) may begin the 2025-26 NBA campaign with a different team. Sources have told Grant Afseth of RG that the Sacramento Kings are interested in acquiring Garland. The Kings are looking to bring in another point guard after trading De'Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs in February. Afseth also mentions Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks as a potential option for the Kings, but trade negotiations surrounding him have "stalled." Garland was also linked with an exit from Cleveland last offseason. After remaining with the team, Garland enjoyed a fine season, averaging 20.6 points and 6.7 assists while earning his second All-Star selection.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Cleveland Cavaliers guardDarius Garland (toe) is likely to miss the start of the 2025-26 regular season after undergoing surgery to repair a toe injury and will be sidelined for approximately four to five months. It was previously reported that the star guard would be good to go for the Cavaliers training camp in October. If Garland is unable to suit up to start the season, free agent Ty Jerome will likely see an expanded role if he re-signs with the Cavs this summer. Through 70 games during the 2024-25 campaign, Jerome averaged 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.1 steals in 19.9 minutes per contest.

According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland may be available "under the right circumstances." There was once a point where it appeared Garland was on his way out of Cleveland. However, a deal never transpired. Yet, it seems now the topic could be revisited. Garland had a quality season in 2024-25, averaging 20.6 points and 6.7 assists. He also shot 40.1% from deep and appeared in 75 contests, both career-highs. It's unknown what kind of deal it will take for the Cavs to move on from Garland. However, if he is traded this offseason, the team may think more about keeping Ty Jerome, who is an unrestricted free agent.

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Ty Jerome is scheduled for unrestricted free agency, but he will remain in Ohio if the team has its way. "Love to keep him. We're hopeful," Cavaliers president Koby Altman said. Jerome had his second season with the Cavaliers, although it was essentially a debut campaign for him after an ankle injury derailed his year in 2023-24, during which he played in only two games. The 27-year-old was one of the best bench players in the league, averaging 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.1 steals in 19.9 minutes. He finished third in the Sixth Man of the Year voting. Now, Jerome is looking at a substantial raise from his current $2.5 million salary. The Cavaliers can offer him a maximum of $14.3 million for next season, and it remains to be seen whether that will be enough to keep him around.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell put up a game-high 35 points as the team's campaign ended with a 114-105 home loss to the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. Mitchell led the Cavaliers offense but struggled massively to hit shots, finishing 8-for-25 from the field, including 4-for-13 from behind the arc. He was 15-for-21 at the charity stripe, failing to hit a single shot late in the game after he was fouled during a three-point attempt. The six-time All-Star, who played through a left ankle injury, completed his work with nine rebounds, one assist, four steals, and one block. After dominating for most of the year, the Cavaliers seemed poised for something special. Instead, they became the fourth team in NBA history to win at least 64 games in the regular season and fail to advance past the second round. The team has won only two playoff series in three years since Mitchell's arrival, and another postseason filled with trade speculation may follow.
