Sunday brings us the second race of the F1 2022 season with the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Friday held the first two practice sessions, while Saturday was the final practice session along with qualifying. Qualifying determines where the racers will start Sunday for the race.

Lineup construction consists of one CPT, four flexes and one team. The key to building a lineup is having all your drivers finish in the top 10 as well as choosing the driver who finishes the best for his respective team. The 5 points for defeating a teammate is equivalent to an eighth-place finish or moving up 10 grid spots. There will not be a ton of people jumping or dropping out of spots unless they crash or someone has car problems and does not finish.

Make sure to check out Jeff Ratcliffe’s F1 Projections. There aren’t many in the industry with projections with F1. We also have five experts in the Discord chat to help in lineup construction and building successful lineups this week. Each expert should have a core and cheat sheet exposures.

Mercedes had a rough qualifying round, and I will be severely underweight. As Jeff and I alluded to in Discord, we will be focusing heavily on a few key pieces. Red Bull and Ferrari are the focus.

My favorite captains for this Grand Prix are Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz, Sergio Perez and Kevin Magnussen (value captain), in that order.

The focus for spend-ups will only be around Leclerc, Verstappen, Sainz and Perez while focusing on Sainz or Leclerc in every lineup. I’ll have Perez or Verstappen close behind, but I prefer Sainz and Leclerc.

I’ll have Kevin Magnussen in about 90% of my lineups because he’ll be the only racer for Haas and will automatically have 5 points from this.

The rest of the player pool in order of preference is:

Heavy Exposure

  • Bottas
  • Ocon
  • Stroll

The Rest of the Player Pool

  • Tsunoda
  • Latifi
  • Albon
  • Alonso
  • Norris
  • Gasly
