Each day, we are going to try and give you a quick preview of today’s main slate and any interesting betting angles that we spot. Take a look.

All betting lines and information are from the FanDuel Sportsbook

Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs betting breakdown

Brewers (-205), Cubs (+172)
Total: 9.0 runs
Freddy Peralta (R) vs. Alec Mills (R)

Three things to know

  • The Brew Crew has cut down on the whiffs (17.5%), but their .294 wOBA is pretty pukey.
  • Chicago is truly an offense we want to target – for opposing pitchers. Over the last week, they have a 33.5% strikeout rate and .264 wOBA.
  • Can Alec Mills solve lefties? He’s allowed an egregious .383 wOBA to them this season.

Best bets: This is a same-game parlay special. Peralta has been awesome, and a Rowdy Tellez homer prop will be nasty.

Chicago White Sox at Minnesota Twins betting breakdown

White Sox (-200), Twins (+168)
Total: 9.5 runs
Lucas Giolito (R) vs. Beau Burrows (R)

Three things to know

  • Lucas Giolito has been insane for the last month, posting a 1.74 ERA and 1.01 WHIP.
  • Beau Burrows, primarily a reliever, has been bombed this season – a 16.3% walk rate and 2.00 HR/9 are ugly numbers.
  • This White Sox team is already scary, and activating Luis Robert off the 60-game IL is even more frightening.

Best bets: Another same-game parlay, and find yourself some love for José Abreu or even a sneaky Luis Robert prop.

New York Yankees at Kansas City Royals betting breakdown

Yankees (-180), Royals (+152)
Total: 10.0 runs
Jameson Taillon (R) vs. Carlos Hernández (R)

Three things to know

  • Carlos Hernández will face his stiffest test yet – but he acquitted himself well in back-to-back White Sox starts (11 innings, 11 whiffs, one earned run).
  • The Yankees have been better, but where did the pop go? In the last week, they sport only a .142 ISO.
  • Jameson Taillon has been a boss in the last month, recording a 1.48 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in the last month.

Best bets: I actually like the UNDER here. Both pitchers are better than people realize.

Miami Marlins at San Diego Padres betting breakdown

Marlins (+220), Padres (-270)
Total: 7.5 runs
Zach Thompson (R) vs. Joe Musgrove (R)

Three things to know

  • Joe Musgrove is on pace for the best strikeout rate of his career – his 27.9% blows away any previous mark he’s recorded.
  • The Marlins stink – over the last seven days, they’ve recorded a 25.1% strikeout rate and a not-so-nice .169 ISO.
  • The Padres are missing Fernando Tatis Jr. in a big way – their .138 ISO in the last week is one of the league’s worst marks.

Best bets: A F3/F5 bet on the Padres makes a lot of sense, and don’t ignore a Joe Musgrove strikeout prop.
