Colorado Rockies infielder Ezequiel Tovar (hip) was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left hip contusion. This transaction was retroactive to April 16. Through the first 16 games of the season, Tovar has posted a .212/.257/.303 slash line with four doubles, one triple, and two stolen bases through the first 16 games of the regular season. The 23-year-old has been held out of the starting lineup since Wednesday and was considered day-to-day. However, with Tovar now on the injured list, fantasy managers should expect him to miss at least the next week of action. In a corresponding move, the Rockies promoted infielder Aaron Schunk to the major league roster. He will also get the starting nod on Sunday and bat in the nine hole. While Tovar is out, Schunk and Kyle Farmer should share time at shortstop.

Colorado Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar (hip) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It sounds like the Rockies are taking the cautious approach and pulling Tovar out of the lineup due to left hip pain. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day, but the Rockies should give another update on his status shortly. In the meantime, Kyle Farmer will cover shortstop and bat cleanup versus right-hander Bobby Miller. The veteran utility man has been one of the few bright spots in this Colorado lineup early in the season.

Colorado Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar (hip) is back at shortstop and is hitting third in the batting order for Friday's series opener against the division-rival San Diego Padres and right-hander Nick Pivetta at Petco Park. A minor hip injury kept Tovar out of Thursday's series finale in Colorado against the Milwaukee Brewers, but he'll return for the start of a weekend series in America's finest city. The 23-year-old will be hoping to keep up his strong start in 2025, as he'll enter Friday's contest with a .277/.306/.404 slash line, four doubles, one triple, four RBI, two stolen bases, four runs scored, two walks and 10 strikeouts in 11 games played. He has only faced Pivetta four times in his career, but he's homered against him and has driven in two runs. Return Tovar to your starting fantasy lineups on Friday evening.

Colorado Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar (hip) is not in Thursday's starting lineup due to a hip injury. Tovar has been dealing with this injury for some time and will get the day off. He will look to return to action on Friday evening against the San Diego Padres. Instead, Kyle Farmer will get the nod at shortstop and bat in the three-hole. Through the first 11 games of the season, Tovar has held a .277/.306/.404 slash line with four doubles and two stolen bases. He has scored four runs and added four RBI. He enjoyed a breakout campaign last summer as he launched 26 long balls, swiped six bags, and held a .269/.295/.469 slash line. When healthy, Tovar should continue to see everyday opportunities in the Colorado starting nine. Farmer is worth a look as a value play in DFS facing right-handed pitcher Quinn Priester.

After a 17-2 drubbing on Wednesday night by the Milwaukee Brewers, Colorado Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar and designated hitter Kris Bryant will get the day off for Thursday's series finale at Coors Field. Catcher Hunter Goodman is also getting the day off. Kyle Farmer will start at short and bat third, Nick Martini will serve as the DH and hit fifth, and Jacob Stalling will do the catching and bat in the nine-hole against Brewers right-hander Quinn Priester. Stallings is the only one of the replacements that has faced Priester in his career, and he has one hit in just two at-bats. This will be Tovar's first day off of the 2025 season. He's started the year by going 13-for-47 (.277) but has yet to go deep in 49 plate appearances. Bryant, a former MVP back in 2016, has stayed healthy, but he's gone just 6-for-31 with no homers, two walks and 10 strikeouts in eight games played.
