Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio, catcher William Contreras and rookie infielder Caleb Durbin are all getting a breather in Thursday's series finale against the San Francisco Giants. Christian Yelich is in left field and batting third, Rhys Hoskins is the designated hitter and batting cleanup, and Jake Bauers will start at first and hit fifth against Giants right-hander Landen Roupp. Vinny Capra is starting at third and hitting eighth, and Eric Haase is catching and in the nine-hole. Chourio has been slumping lately, going 6-for-42 in his last 10 games going into Thursday, so he'll receive a mental day. Contreras has been hot, picking up hits in 15 of his last 16 games. This will be only the second day off of the season for the 27-year-old backstop. Durbin made his MLB debut last Friday and has gone 6-for-23 with three RBI and four runs in his first six games with the Brewers.

Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Caleb Durbin turned in a productive game in a 5-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Monday. Durbin went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer to provide the only offense for the Brewers in the loss. The rookie infielder now has his first MLB homer under his belt as he launched a 375-foot blast off Giants starter Robbie Ray in the second inning. Durbin was just recalled from Triple-A last week and has posted a .200 average, three runs, three RBI, and a steal across 15 at-bats. He has plenty of speed and is worth monitoring in fantasy in case he's able to reach base consistently as Milwaukee's regular third baseman.

MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports that the Milwaukee Brewers are calling up infield prospect Caleb Durbin from Triple-A Nashville on Thursday in order to try and generate more production from third base at the major-league level. Infielder Oliver Dunn was optioned to Nashville in a corresponding move. The 25-year-old Durbin was acquired from the New York Yankees in the Devin Williams trade in the offseason, and he's considered Milwaukee's No. 21 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. Dunn and Vinny Capra weren't getting it done offensively at third with a combined .429 OPS and .188 on-base percentage. Durbin slashed .278/.316/.482 with two homers, three RBI and three steals in 13 games for Nashville. He has 113 steals in 294 minor-league games and will be a waiver-wire option for fantasy managers in deep-mixed leagues that are seeking some speed. Durbin will be making his major-league debut.

Milwaukee Brewers infield prospect Caleb Durbin went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored for Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, bringing his hit streak to six games while hitting safely in seven of eight. The former 14th-round draft pick is slashing .294/.333/.559 with two home runs and one stolen base to begin the year. He looked primed to make the Brewers' Opening Day roster after a strong spring showing, but was ultimately sent to Triple-A for more seasoning. With Brice Turang entrenched at second base and hitting well, Durbin's path to playing time is through shortstop or third base. Notably, Durbin was at third base on Tuesday, so it could be six-home run spring training star Vinny Capra who could be on the hot seat after an 0-for-4 night for the Brewers dropped his BA to .130. Whenever Durbin does get the call, he could be a significant source of stolen bases and is eligible at 2B, 3B, and SS on Yahoo!, giving him some added fantasy appeal.

Milwaukee Brewers infielder Caleb Durbin has been optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday. Durbin was acquired by the Brewers this offseason in the deal that sent Devin Williams over to the New York Yankees. The Brewers would rather have Durbin and Tyler Black get regular at-bats in the minors than sit on the bench in the big leagues. Both players should get a chance on the Brewers roster at some point during the 2025 season. For now, fantasy managers can ignore them heading into the regular season.
