Alan Trejo Getting A Breather Against Rangers

Colorado Rockies infielder Alan Trejo will retreat to the bench for Wednesday's series finale against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field. Kyle Farmer will start at shortstop and will hit second against Rangers left-hander Patrick Corbin. Trejo will get a day of rest after starting each of the team's last four games at the 6. The 28-year-old has become Colorado's preferred option at shortstop of late with Ezequiel Tovar (hip) still on the injured list. He's hitting just .175 (7-for-40), though with no home runs, one RBI and three runs scored, making him unattractive in mixed fantasy leagues. Farmer has been similarly unattractive in most fantasy leagues in 2025, slashing .236/.274/.327 with no home runs, nine RBI and three runs scored in 110 at-bats for the worst team in baseball. Farmer is in a good lineup spot for fantasy production, but he's hit .176 with a .476 OPS and two RBI in 17 career at-bats against Corbin.

Alan Trejo Traded To The Rockies

The Colorado Rockies are re-acquired Alan Trejo from the Texas Rangers in exchange for cash considerations after the 28-year-old righty signed in the offseason with the Rangers. Trejo spent the first part of this season in Triple-A, where he hit .211 with no home runs, eight doubles, and one stolen base. Before signing with Texas, Trejo played parts of the last four seasons with Colorado, hitting .228 in 174 games with nine home runs and six stolen bases. Trejo is expected to be activated for Sunday's series finale against the Reds, but he is a utility depth piece that doesn't carry much fantasy value despite playing his home games at Coors Field once again.

Alan Trejo Heading To Texas On Minor-League Contract

The Texas Rangers have signed second baseman/shortstop Alan Trejo to a minor-league contract that contains an invite to Spring Training. Trejo has spent the first four seasons of his major league career with the Colorado Rockies. Last summer, Trejo held a .143/.182/.143 line with no extra-base hits across 28 games in the major leagues. He sits with a cumulative .228/.276/.334 line through 174 games in the majors. Trejo would also post a .265/.346/.408 line across 59 games at Triple-A last summer. While the infielder has yet to put it together in the majors, he has shown solid upside in the minor leagues. He is worth monitoring in deeper AL-only formats as he could contend for a spot on the Opening Day roster.
