Miami Marlins catcher prospect Agustin Ramirez has impressed with Triple-A Jacksonville since joining the Marlins' organization from the New York Yankees in a trade that sent Jazz Chisholm to New York. Ramirez has played 11 games with Jacksonville and is hitting .317/.417/.561 with two homers, four doubles, and eight RBI. The 22-year-old is one of the top catcher prospects in the minors and is showing why in his new organization. If he keeps this up in Jacksonville, he could earn a look with the Marlins before this season is over.
Miami Marlins catcher prospect Agustin Ramirez stayed hot with another three-hit night for Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, making it back-to-back three-hit performances. Ramirez was traded to Miami at the deadline from the New York Yankees in the Jazz Chisholm trade. He is now the No. 6 prospect for the Marlins. The 22-year-old is hitting .276 with 21 homers and 76 RBI with three different teams across two levels this season. Ramirez is one of the most intriguing catcher prospects in the minors and he carries a lot of pop in his bat from the right side of the plate. One step away from the majors, Ramirez could potentially get a look with the Marlins before the season is over.
Promoted from Double-A Somerset to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on June 19, New York Yankees catcher/first base prospect Agustin Ramirez struggled in his few games. Through his first ten games, he went just 4-for-39 (.111 AVG) with one home run, five RBI, and a 5:11 BB/SO ratio. However, he seems to have adjusted. Recently, he's turned things around and played much better. Over the last week, he's 6-for-25 (.273 AVG) with three homers, four RBI, and a 3:5 BB/SO. Between Double-A and Triple-A, Ramirez is slashing .266/.356/.532 with 14 doubles, 20 homers, 58 RBI, and 36:59 BB/SO. The Yankees' No. 20 prospect (per MLB.com), Ramirez could make his MLB debut later this season.
New York Yankees catcher/first base prospect Agustin Ramirez was promoted from Double-A Somerset to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on June 19. In 58 Double-A games, he slashed .290/.372/.570 with 14 doubles, 16 home runs, 49 RBI, and 13 stolen bases. However, he's had a slow start to his Triple-A tenure. Through 22 plate appearances, he's managed just one hit. But this is a small sample size, and Ramirez's track record and potential suggest that he could turn things around. At just 22 years old, he's the Yankees' No. 20 prospect (per MLB.com) and expected to make his MLB debut in 2026.
New York Yankees catching prospect Agustin Ramirez launched three home runs and extended his hitting streak to three games. Over his past 13 games, Ramirez has been exceptional with a .321/.339/.607 line and 12 RBI. Through the early part of the season in his first extended look at Double-A, the 22-year-old has looked quite comfortable with a .282/.377/.585 line with 15 total long balls, 41 RBI, and a 28:38 BB:K ratio in 49 games. This is a significant improvement compared to his .211 AVG he held through 31 games with Double-A Somerset last summer. MLB Pipeline projects Ramirez to reach the majors in 2026, but with how well he is performing, a 2025 debut is not out of reach.
