Ryan Weathers Placed on 60-Day Injured List

Miami Marlins starting pitcher Ryan Weathers (lat) has been placed on the 60-day injured list on Monday. Weathers was pulled from his most recent start on Saturday after reportedly dealing with discomfort. The Marlins had Weathers undergo further testing, which revealed a lat strain. This looks like it's going to be a lengthy absence with Weathers being placed on the 60-day injured list. It's tough for fantasy managers to warrant holding Weathers through this injury. The Marlins haven't said who is going to take the vacant spot in the starting rotation.

Ryan Weathers to be Evaluated for Shoulder Discomfort

Miami Marlins left-hander Ryan Weathers (shoulder) is back in Miami to be evaluated for shoulder discomfort, according to MLB.com's Christina De Nicola. Weathers had a rough start on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rays, as he showed diminished velocity and then was hit in the head by catcher Nick Fortes between innings. His head is fine, but the Marlins are worried about his shoulder after he was seen flexing his arm during his outing over the weekend. The 25-year-old southpaw started the year on the injured list with a forearm injury, which is why he's been limited to only five starts. In his five starts, Weathers has a strong 3.28 ERA (4.40 FIP) and 1.05 WHIP with 23 strikeouts and eight walks in 24 2/3 innings pitched. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day, but his next start is firmly in jeopardy, and he could be in danger of going on the IL for the second time in 2025.

Ryan Weathers Removed for Precautionary Reasons

Miami Marlins starting pitcher Ryan Weathers (forearm) made an early exit from Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Weathers was taken out after only three innings due to what appeared to be a forearm injury. The organization is saying he was removed for precautionary reasons, so hopefully it's not a serious injury. The assumption is that Weathers will undergo further testing. Before exiting, Weathers tossed three innings, allowing three earned runs on nine hits with one strikeout. Fantasy managers will need to check back for another update on his status.
