Connor Norby In Midst Of Eight-Game Hitting Streak

Miami Marlins third baseman Connor Norby extended his team-leading hitting streak to eight games by going 2-for-4 with a triple and a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Chicago Cubs. "Throughout the last week, my process has been really good, but the biggest thing and biggest emphasis they've had with me is just swinging at good pitches," Norby said. Both of the 24-year-old's homers this year have gone to the pull side. In his rookie season in 2024, just four of his nine long balls were pulled. During his current hitting streak, Norby is hitting .357 (10-for-28) with two doubles, a triple, a homer, three RBI, two walks and six strikeouts. He has hit safely in 15 of 22 games since his return from the injured list from a left-oblique strain. Norby is on the rise and is now hitting .269/.313/.436 on the year with four steals, six RBI and 14 runs scored as Miami's regular third baseman.

Connor Norby Collects Three Hits, Homers

Miami Marlins infielder Connor Norby went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Seattle Mariners. He added a double, a single, and two runs scored. The 24-year-old knocked in all three runs in one swing with a three-run blast -- his first homer and RBIs of the season -- in the top of the eighth inning to bring Miami within one, but it was the last runs they'd muster in the contest. Norby is swinging a hot bat since returning from the injured list, notching at least one hit in six of nine games with two three-hit efforts. He's striking out at an undesirable 34.3% clip and has yet to draw a walk, but holds a .303 average and is already one off of his stolen base total from last season in 145 fewer at-bats.

Connor Norby Activated And Making Season Debut On Thursday

The Miami Marlins announced on Thursday that they reinstated infield prospect Connor Norby (oblique) from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Graham Pauley to Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. Norby is making the start at third base and is batting second in his 2025 debut against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks and left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez. The 24-year-old suffered a left-oblique strain at the end of spring training, which kept him out for the first couple weeks of the regular season. But now that he's healthy, Norby will settle in as Miami's starting third baseman, and he could be valuable in mixed fantasy leagues for his power. He went 4-for-8 with a home run in three rehab games with Jacksonville. The former second-rounder made his big-league debut last year with the Orioles and Marlins ad hit nine home runs in only 45 games played.
