Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez (elbow) could be limited to a designated hitter role early in the season. Sanchez has battled elbow inflammation and may not be cleared to see action in the outfield early in the season. However, this injury is not expected to keep him out of action in the batter's box. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status during spring training in case he faces a setback. Last season, the 27-year-old posted a .252/.313/.417 line with 18 home runs and 16 stolen bases. He generated a .468 xSLG, 51.3 percent hard-hit rate, and a 12.2 percent barrel rate, which were all well above the average marks. While serving as a DH, Griffin Connie or Kyle Stowers could see time in right field. Once Sanchez is cleared for outfield action, Jonah Bride or prospect Deyvison De Los Santos could slot in at the designated hitter spot.

Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez will get reps in center field during the spring, according to manager Clayton McCullough. It sounds like this will just be to add some versatility, as McCullough also noted that Derek Hill and Dane Myers will get the most reps in center, with Myers currently projected to be the team's primary center fielder. Sanchez has played some center field in the past, logging 703 2/3 innings there during his time in the majors, but typically calls right field home. The 27-year-old set multiple career-highs last season, and if his strong September is any indication, he could be ready to take another step forward in 2025. Right now, he's not projected to be in a platoon, which should mean more at-bats this season, meaning the counting stats could pile up. The left-handed slugger will cost next to nothing in most drafts with an ADP of around 245, but he has the power and speed to easily outproduce that number if given the opportunity.

Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez (elbow) is recovering from right-elbow inflammation but has been cleared for full hitting activities and is in the final stages of a throwing program at spring training. It's a minor concern for Sanchez and the Marlins early in camp. Barring a setback with his elbow, the 27-year-old outfielder should be fully ready for Opening Day in late March as the team's primary right fielder. Sanchez ranked in the 95th percentile last year in terms of hard contact and was also in the 93rd percentile in average exit velocity. The left-handed batter hits the ball hard. However, he strikeouts out a bit too much and doesn't put the ball in the air enough, which is why he's yet to produce a 20-homer season for fantasy managers. He also has only four career stolen bases, which is why RotoBaller has him ranked as only the No. 65 fantasy outfielder in 2025.
