2024 Team Stats

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola (ankle) has not progressed as quickly as the team has hoped. Nola has been sidelined with a right ankle sprain and was placed on the injured list on May 15. Nola was initially expected to throw a bullpen this weekend in Sacramento, but it appears he has not progressed enough to take the next step in his recovery. Fantasy managers should continue monitoring his status, but Nola may not return to action as quickly as the team had hoped. Before his injury, Nola struggled as he posted a high 6.16 ERA with a 1.51 WHIP across 49 2/3 innings of work. During this stint, Nola struck out 52 batters but generated a high 4.94 xERA and a .284 xBA. While Nola remains out, fantasy managers should expect Taijuan Walker to remain in the starting rotation.

Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber homered, doubled, and walked once, collecting three RBI and scoring twice in Saturday's 9-6 extra-innings win over the Athletics. His double in the top of the 11th inning proved to be the game-winner, as it drove in two runs and broke a 6-6 tie. Schwarber is having a phenomenal season to this point, now with 18 home runs, 40 RBI, 40 runs scored, four steals, all while hitting .255 with a .418 wOBA, and 168 wRC+. The veteran has played in 52 games thus far and has been on base via hit or walk in all but two, posting a .397 OBP. All of this puts him comfortably within the top 10 in fantasy scoring this season, and there are no signs of slowing down. He'll look to keep rolling on Sunday against RHP Gunnar Hoglund, who has allowed nine earned runs on 13 hits and five walks over his last two starts (10 IP).

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings on Friday, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out eight in a 4-3 victory over the Athletics, picking up his sixth win in the process. It now makes three straight starts where the righty hasn't even allowed one run to cross the plate, a stretch of 19 2/3 innings. The performance lowered his ERA and WHIP to 2.42 and 0.88, respectively, while the veteran owns an elite 27.5 percent K-BB% on the year. The 2x All-Star will look to keep the streak rolling against the Braves at home next week, a team that's middle of the pack in strikeouts per game (8.38) but hits RHP well at a .254 AVG, good for sixth-best, and also just got Ronald Acuna Jr. back.

Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner was one of the lone bright spots on offense in the Phils' 4-3 win over the Athletics on Friday. The veteran went 3-for-5 from the leadoff spot, belting his fourth home run of the year, collecting two RBI, and stealing a base in the contest. Philadelphia's 2-3-4 hitters went a combined 0-for-10 against LHP Jacob Lopez. It was Turner's fourth multi-hit effort in the last five games, with 14 multi-hit efforts in 24 games since April 27, during which time the 31-year-old is slashing .371/.394/.543. For the season, the 3x All-Star is now hitting .310 with four home runs, 20 RBI, 34 runs scored, and 13 steals, making him a top 10 fantasy option at the position. Turner will face Jeffrey Springs on Saturday, whom he is 1-for-3 off of lifetime.

Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez tossed a gem in Thursday's series finale at Coors Field in the 2-0 win over the Colorado Rockies to help the Phillies to their seventh straight win. Suarez put up one of his best performances of the season against the hapless Rockies by throwing 6 2/3 scoreless innings with six hits allowed, three walks and six strikeouts for his third win of 2025. The 29-year-old southpaw got a late start after missing the first five weeks of the year with a back injury. Since his disappointing debut on May 4, he's 3-0 with a strong 1.31 ERA in three starts. Although there isn't a ton of strikeout upside with Suarez, fantasy managers should continue rolling with him and the hot Phillies for his next scheduled start at Citizens Bank Park against the division-rival Atlanta Braves next week.
