Ranger Suarez Has Solid Rehab Outing

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ranger Suarez (back) was effective on the mound during his rehab start with High-A Clearwater on Thursday. The left-hander tossed three scoreless innings, allowing one hit, and striking out four batters. This was the first appearance for Suarez since he landed on the injured list due to a lower back issue. Luckily, it doesn't sound like Suarez is going to need too many more rehab outings before rejoining the big league club. The hope is that Suarez can return to the starting rotation by the end of the April. Fantasy managers looking for pitching help might want to consider stashing Suarez.

Nick Castellanos Hitting Cleanup On Thursday

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos is in right field and is batting cleanup for Thursday's divisional clash against the Atlanta Braves and right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach at Truist Park. It's the first time that Castellanos has been in the cleanup spot this year, with the Phillies moving third baseman Alec Bohm moving down to the seven-hole after an 8-for-45 (.178) start to the year with no home runs. The 33-year-old Castellanos has been swinging a hot bat in the early going in 2025, hitting .308 (12-for-39) with two homers, three RBI and seven RBI. He's gone 7-for-18 in the last five games as well. The move up the lineup into the cleanup spot will make him a little more attractive for DFS lineups, albeit against a pitcher that has yet to give up a run this year. Castellanos has hit .222 with three RBI in nine career at-bats against Schwellenbach.

Austin Hays Starting Rehab Assignment

Cincinnati Reds outfielder Austin Hays (calf) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Thursday. Hays has been sidelined through the first two weeks of the regular season due to a low-grade calf strain. Fantasy managers should monitor his status with Louisville as he could be cleared for action as soon as next week. Hays inked a one-year, $5 million contract with the Reds earlier in the winter. He enjoyed a productive spring training, and several reports projected him to open the season as the team's leadoff hitter. Last summer, the 29-year-old logged 85 games split between the Orioles and the Phillies and held a cumulative .255/.303/.396 slash line with five round-trippers. When healthy, he is worth a look in five outfielder leagues, especially if he bats in the top half of the lineup.

Bryce Harper Launches Two-Run Home Run

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and two walks in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Braves. This was his second home run of the year, and he is now slashing .279/.380/.465 with two home runs, five RBI, seven runs, and one stolen base through the first 11 games. It has been a slower start to the season for Harper compared to many other star players, but he'll heat up eventually and remains one of the game's best hitters.

Trea Turner Blasts Go-Ahead Home Run

Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk, and two runs scored on Wednesday. His homer came in the top of the ninth inning against Braves closer Raisel Iglesias, propelling the Phillies to a 4-3 win over Atlanta. It was Turner's first home run of the season, and he is now slashing .281/.395/.406 with six runs and four stolen bases. The power has been the only thing that has been missing in the early going, and the superstar figures to once again be one of the best shortstops in fantasy in 2025.
