San Francisco Giants catcher Joey Bart was designated for assignment on Sunday, removing the 27-year-old from the 40-man roster. The team brought up right-hander Daulton Jefferies as a corresponding move. Bart, the No. 2 overall pick from the 2018 draft, was never able to put things together with the Giants. He slashed a paltry .219/.288/.335 with 11 homers in 162 games across four years. The Giants will now have to either waive or trade Bart as he does not have any minor-league options remaining. Perhaps a change of scenery will do Bart some good, but his dynasty value is lower than it has ever been.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers (shoulder) will be back in the team's starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Devers missed the past two games due to nagging shoulder soreness that has hampered him since Spring Training, but the team never felt like it was serious enough to send him for imaging. Devers went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in the Red Sox season opener. His return is a welcomed presence for fantasy managers as he looks to have another 30-homer, 100-RBI season.

Seattle Mariners catcher/designated hitter Mitch Garver (back) remains sidelined for Sunday's game against the Boston Red Sox due to back spasms. Garver said on Friday that he did not think the ailment would be a long-term issue, but it is a bit of a concern that he has now missed three straight games. The slugging 33-year-old went 1-for-4 in the Mariners' season-opener and has not been able to suit up since. In Garver's absence, Mitch Haniger is worth a look in deeper leagues as he continues to bat cleanup for Seattle. Haniger has gone 3-for-10 with one home run and three RBI to start the season.

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. The 33-year-old started the first three games of the season for Toronto, going 1-for-10 with one RBI and a walk. Kiermaier was battling a knee injury during Spring Training, but he seemed no worse for wear throughout the weekend. Daulton Varsho will slide over to centerfield in his absence while Davis Schneider will start in left. Kiermaier remains nothing more than a depth option in AL-Only or deep league formats.

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler (elbow) is expected to throw 40 to 50 pitches in his first rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday. Initially the expectation was that Buehler would go four-to-five innings, but the Dodgers have opted for a lighter workload. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts speculated that Buehler will need around four rehab starts before he can re-join the major-league rotation. The 29-year-old missed all of last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but his return is creeping closer, barring any setbacks. Buehler should be stashed in all fantasy formats, as he could provide high-end value once fully healthy.
