LaMonte Wade Jr. Remains Out On Sunday

San Francisco Giants outfielder/first baseman LaMonte Wade Jr. (hamstring) remains out of the team's starting lineup for Sunday's game against the New York Mets. Wade Jr. tweaked his hamstring during Friday's game and did not suit up on Saturday. The 30-year-old has been quite productive at the plate so far in 2024 and should be back sooner rather than later. In his absence, Wilmer Flores will start at first base and bat fifth. Flores is slashing a paltry .189/.228/.283 over his last 15 games, but he is 8-for-23 (.348 BA) with two doubles against Mets starter Sean Manaea in his career.

Byron Buxton Absent From Sunday's Lineup

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. It appears to be a regular rest day for the 30-year-old as he has started each of the last five games. Willi Castro will take over duties in center field and bat second against Rangers right-hander Gerson Garabito. Castro is a budget DFS option for Sunday's slate as he is slashing .261/.393/.435 with one home run, two RBI and a stolen base over his last seven games.

Ronel Blanco Starting Sunday Against Athletics

Houston Astros right-hander Ronel Blanco (suspension) will start Sunday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Blanco was reinstated to the team's active roster on Sunday morning after serving a 10-game suspension for using a foreign substance on the mound. Blanco has been a surprising bright spot for fantasy managers as he owns a 2.09 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 45:21 K:BB across eight starts this season. The 30-year-old should be able to pick back up where he left off in an attractive fantasy matchup on Sunday.

Michael Massey Headed To Injured List

Kansas City Royals second baseman Michael Massey (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday afternoon. The 26-year-old injured his back on Friday night and did not play on Saturday. Nick Loftin was recalled from Triple-A Omaha as a corresponding move. It is an unfortunate injury for Massey as he was swinging a hot bat over the past two weeks. Veteran infielder Adam Frazier is starting at second base and batting sixth on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Frazier will likely see the majority of playing time against right-handed pitching while Garrett Hampson or the aforementioned Loftin could draw in against lefties. None of those options are all that attractive for fantasy purposes.

Jordan Beck Officially Placed On Injured List

Colorado Rockies outfielder Jordan Beck (hand) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday afternoon with a left-hand fracture. Beck suffered the injury on Saturday night while attempting to make a diving catch against the Philadelphia Phillies. There is no definitive timeline for his return. Beck had been struggling at the major-league level at the time of his injury as evidenced by his .190 average and bloated 37% K%. Outfielder Sean Bouchard was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque and will start in left field against the Phillies on Sunday. Bouchard has had modest success across 66 MLB games in his career, but he is better off being left on the waiver wire for the time being.
