Seattle Mariners right-hander Jackson Kowar is set to meet with a doctor to check on his arm issues, according to skipper Scott Servais. The 27-year-old has his third Cactus League appearance pushed back on Tuesday due to soreness and it appears the club feels it's necessary to visit with a specialist. The right-hander was acquired from the Braves as part of the trade that sent outfielder Jarred Kelenic to Atlanta this winter. He spent the 2023 season with the Royals where he made his big-league debut and pitched to a 6.43 ERA across 23 relief outings. He also tossed a 5.96 ERA across 30 appearances with Triple-A Omaha. He is competing for a long relief role with the M's in the 2024 season but remains off the fantasy radar.

Detroit Tigers right-hander Alex Lange has struggled through his first two appearances of the spring after an inconsistent 2023 season, much of which was spent as the Tigers' closer. The 28-year-old has yielded four earned runs on five hits, including two homers, across just two innings of work. He does have five strikeouts against just one walk allowed in that time but he has surrendered a .455 batting average to this point in Grapefruit League action. It's an ominous start to the spring considering Lange was all over the map a season ago, struggling with free passes by way of a 15.6% BB%. He finished the season with a solid 3.68 ERA with 26 saves and a healthy 27.4% K%, and his 50.6% ground-ball rate helped limit home runs. However, with the Tigers looking to compete in the 2024 season and the additions of Andrew Chafin and Shelby Miller to their bullpen, along with internal closing candidates, Lange will be on a short leash despite likely beginning the season as the club's closer.

Los Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon (groin) says he is feeling better and could take live at-bats on Thursday. He added he will be playing "soon". "It was more just soreness. We were just trying to prevent anything bigger, especially so early in camp," Rendon said. The veteran's tenure with the Angels has been plagued by injuries since he signed a seven-year, $245 million deal with the team prior to the 2020 season. He has played a total of just 200 games across four years (including the shortened 2020 season) with the Angels and has struggled in that time. Most recently, he hit .236 with two home runs and two stolen bases alongside a .679 OPS across 43 games in the 2023 season. His fantasy value is at an all-time low and he should be left alone in all formats.

A day after hitting his first home run of the spring, Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Jack Suwinski went 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout in Wednesday's 6-4 Grapefruit League loss to the Orioles. The lefty hitter is now 3-for-15 (.200) in spring action with a home run and a double. More concerningly, he's also struck out six times, so managers hoping he would bring his K% down in 2024 may be disappointed. If he hits 26 home runs again and maintains his 2023 walk rate of 14.0%, they also may not care. RotoBaller ranks the 25-year-old at 220 overall, ahead of his NFBC ADP of 236.

Tampa Bay Rays top prospect Junior Caminero isn't expected to make the Rays' Opening Day roster, nor is he pounding his way into it this spring. The 20-year-old went 1-for-3 in a 7-4 Grapefruit League loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday and is now 4-for-16 (.250) in the spring, including one home run. MLB's fourth overall prospect had a great minor league season last year but also skipped over Triple-A before making his big league debut. He'll begin the season at Triple-A, but has big power and can hit to all fields so expect to see him in Tampa at some point again in 2024. While with the big league club in 2023, he played in seven games at three different infield positions, although it seems he profiles best at third base. RotoBaller ranks the youngster at 217 overall, ahead of his NFBC ADP of 237.
