Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman (hand) is doing the catching for right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano on Monday and is hitting third against the division-rival New York Yankees and right-hander Will Warren at Camden Yards. Rutschman did not play on Sunday against the Detroit Tigers due to a sore right hand that stemmed from when he blocked all ball in the dirt on Saturday. It wasn't a serious concern, though, and the 27-year-old backstop will end up missing just one game. Rutschman has been a disappointment for fantasy manager early on in the season, hitting just .209 (19-for-91) with four home runs, eight RBI and 12 runs scored. He's been especially bad in the last 11 games, going 5-for-37 (.135) with a homer, two RBI, seven walks and 10 strikeouts. We're expecting the former No. 1 overall pick to turn things around sooner than later.

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Tony Gonsolin (back) will be activated from the 15-day injured list this week and is expected to make his first start of the season and in 20 month against the Miami Marlins at home on Wednesday, according to manager Dave Roberts. Gonsolin's last start in the big leagues came on Aug. 18 of 2023, when he allowed 10 earned runs in 3 1/3 innings in a loss to the Marlins at Dodger Stadium. He had season-ending Tommy John surgery two weeks later and didn't pitch at all in 2024 as a result. In his four minor-league rehab starts, the 30-year-old veteran went 1-1 with a 3.21 ERA, 16 strikeouts and six walks in 14 innings for Triple-A Oklahoma City. Gonsolin was a first-time All-Star in 2022 when he went 16-1 with a 2.14 ERA and 0.87 WHIP in 24 starts. If he pitches well, he could keep a rotation spot in L.A. with Blake Snell (elbow) on the IL and Tyler Glasnow (shoulder) potentially joining him there.

Colorado Rockies left-handed pitcher Austin Gomber (shoulder) has yet to throw since his first rehab outing on March 28. The southpaw made one rehab outing with Triple-A Albuquerque but faced a setback after this start. In this outing, Gomber allowed two runs and three hits, and struck out five batters. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as the team has yet to provide a definitive timetable for his recovery. Gomber was shifted to the 60-day injured list earlier in April. Last season, Gomber logged a career-high 165 innings to the tune of a 4.75 ERA with a 1.31 WHIP. He tallied 116 punchouts but showed strong command of his pitches as he served up walks at an impressive 5.5 percent rate. However, he generated a 5.07 xERA, which placed him in the ninth percentile among qualified pitchers. While he remains sidelined, top prospect Chase Dollander should continue to see opportunities in the major leagues.

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Sunday that right-hander Tyler Glasnow (shoulder) landing on the injured list is "certainly a possibility." Glasnow said he felt something grab in his right shoulder while doing warm-up throws between innings in his start on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates before being removed from the game. While Roberts is more worried about Glasnow for the short-term and not the long-term, it doesn't mean that he won't be required to miss the next couple of weeks. The hard-throwing 31-year-old dealt with cramps in his legs his last outing, and now he's dealing with a potentially serious right-shoulder ailment. He has a 4.50 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in his 18 innings pitched while providing fantasy managers with 23 strikeouts in his five starts. Glasnow will need to be stashed in all fantasy formats if he goes on the IL.UPDATE: Roberts said on Monday that it's "more likely than not" that Glasnow will go on the IL. Doctors and the medical staff are examining Glasnow on Monday for "overall body soreness."

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman is not in the team's starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the visiting Miami Marlins at Dodger Stadium. With Edman starting on the bench on Monday, veteran Miguel Rojas will start at second base and will bat ninth against Marlins right-hander Edward Cabrera. Edman currently boasts a modest .243 (26-for-107) batting average in the early going in 2025, but he has also delivered eight home runs, 19 RBI and 18 runs scored in the best lineup in baseball. The switch-hitting 29-year-old should return to action on Tuesday and continue to be productive offensively for fantasy managers. Edman went 1-for-11 with four strikeouts in the weekend series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Rojas is one to ignore for DFS purposes. He's hitless in just one career at-bat against Cabrera.
