New York Mets right-hander Edwin Diaz secured a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday. Diaz pitched one inning while allowing one run and striking out two to pick up his sixth save of the season. It was a rocky inning for Diaz and the Mets as he allowed a three-run homer to Bryson Stott, with two of the runs being charged to reliever Max Kranick. Diaz now has a 1-0 record, 5.59 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts over 9 2/3 innings of work on the season. He remains perfect in six save chances, despite the ugly ERA. That being said, the longtime Mets closer has a firm grip on the closer role in the Big Apple.

Detroit Tigers right-hander Will Vest tossed a scoreless ninth inning to wrap up a 6-4 win over the San Diego Padres on Monday. Vest did not allow any baserunners while picking up one strikeout on two swinging strikes to earn the save. The veteran reliever now has a 1-0 record, 0.93 ERA, 0.62 WHIP, two saves, and 10 strikeouts over 9 2/3 innings of work. Vest has been one of the top relievers in baseball in the early going, but he remains No. 2 in line for save chances behind veteran Tommy Kahnle. That being said, his low ERA and WHIP still give him some fantasy value in deeper leagues that count holds.

Boston Red Sox right-hander Justin Slaten preserved a 4-2 win over the Chicago White Sox on Monday. Slaten pitched a scoreless ninth inning while not allowing a baserunner and notching one strikeout to pick up the save. The 27-year-old hurler is perfect in three save chances this season while adding a 4.00 ERA, 0.56 WHIP, and eight strikeouts over nine innings of work on the season. Slaten and left-hander Ardolis Chapman remain part of a committee in Boston as the latter got the hold while allowing a one-run eighth inning. Both relievers hold some fantasy value, although they might provide an occasional headache while siphoning save chances away from each other.

Houston Astros first base/outfield prospect Zach Dezenzo went 2-for-3 with two runs, one RBI, and a walk during their 7-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. In the fifth inning, Dezenzo would hit an RBI double to right field, which scored outfield prospect Cam Smith. He would then come around and score on a Jose Altuve double. Later in the seventh, Dezenzo would hit his second double of the contest and would score his second run on a Yordan Alvarez single. The 24-year-old was able to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster but has had a limited role in the Houston offense. Through just eight games this season, Dezenzo has held a .222/.300/.333 line. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but it appears Dezenzo will have his fantasy upside limited due to his unstable playing time.

Milwaukee Brewers pitching prospect Craig Yoho allowed one run during his MLB debut on Monday evening. Yoho entered the game in the eighth inning. He proceeded to strike out the first batter he saw, Heliot Ramos. However, he then allowed a walk to LaMonte Wade Jr. and a single to Wilmer Flores. Wade would eventually score on a double play later in the frame. This is a strong debut for Yoho, who just joined the MLB roster prior to Monday's contest against the Giants. Earlier in the summer, Yoho tossed nine 2/3 shutout innings with Triple-A. During this stint, he allowed five hits, three walks, and struck out nine hitters. Last summer, he held a 1.26 ERA across 14 1/3 innings with an 18:9 K:BB at Triple-A. He is worth a look in holds leagues as he appears to have a high-leverage role in the Milwaukee bullpen
