Tanner Bibee Throws 5 2/3 Shutout Frames

Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher Tanner Bibee looked good in his season debut, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out two over 5 shutout innings in a 6-2 win over the Royals. He was originally set to start on Opening Day before being scratched with an illness, but he looked fully recovered on Sunday. He is coming off of a solid 2024, where he posted a 3.47 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 187 strikeouts in 173 innings. The right-hander will be looking to take another step forward this season and is tentatively scheduled to face the Angels in his next start.

Daniel Schneemann Homers, Draws Three Walks

Cleveland Guardians shortstop Daniel Schneemann homered and drew three walks against the Royals in a 6-2 win. He earned the start at second base, with Gabriel Arias shifting to third to cover for injured star Jose Ramirez. His wrist injury isn't expected to require a trip to the injured list, and the infield playing time situation is unclear once he returns. Schneemann's best-case scenario is being the strong side of a platoon at second, but it's also possible that he will serve as a utility bat off the bench. He isn't worth adding in fantasy yet, but he could be useful down the line if he carves out some platoon time.

Roman Anthony Goes Deep Twice On Sunday

Boston Red Sox outfield prospect Roman Anthony went 2-for-3 with two home runs and two walks during their victory over Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday. After going 0-for-3 with two walks in his season debut on March 28, one of the top prospects in the sport bounced back in a big way. He was competing for a spot on the MLB roster during camp but fell short. However, if Anthony can continue to produce at an elite level at Triple-A, he should push for an early 2025 MLB debut. Last season, the 20-year-old appeared in 34 games with Triple-A Worcester and posted an elite .344/.463/.519 slash line with 12 doubles and three round-trippers. He also held a stellar 31:31 BB:K. However, given Wilyer Abreu's hot start to the campaign, the Red Sox may opt to keep Anthony in Triple-A longer than expected. He is worth stashing in all 12+ team formats that start five outfielders.

Chris Bassitt Excellent On Sunday Against The Orioles

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Chris Bassitt led the Blue Jays to a 3-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday to help salvage a split in their four-game series. He recorded his first win of the season, allowed eight hits, one run, and two walks, and had seven strikeouts over six innings of work. Bassitt was able to scatter those eight hits and get out of traffic quite often on the afternoon against a solid lineup. Bassitt will look to keep it rolling next weekend, when he is tentatively lined up to face the New York Mets on the road. Fantasy managers can continue to rely on Bassitt until proven otherwise, as he is a veteran pitcher who knows how to pitch in the big leagues.

Bryan Woo Records His First Win On Sunday

Seattle Mariners' young pitcher Bryan Woo was carving up the Athletics on Sunday, and he walked away with his first win of the season after the Mariners defeated the Athletics 2-1. He finished with five strikeouts, three hits allowed, one earned run, and two issued walks in six innings pitched. The only Athletic's hitter that got to him was Tyler Soderstrom, who took him deep in the fourth inning for his third home run of the series. Woo was effective in this one, only throwing 76 pitches in the afternoon in his six innings of work, so he should be fresh for his next start, which is tentatively lined up next weekend on the road to take on the San Francisco Giants. There was a lot of hype surrounding Woo entering the 2025 season, and he certainly backed it up in his first start. Continue to start Woo with confidence moving forward.
