The New York Yankees have optioned right-handed pitcher Yerry De Los Santos to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. De Los Santos was competing for a spot on the Opening Day roster but fell short in his bid. In the Grapefruit League, De Los Santos logged nine 1/3 innings to the tune of a 1.93 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP. The 27-year-old has only logged 50 career innings at the MLB level throughout his career. He has held a 4.14 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP. Last summer, De Los Santos spent the entire campaign in the minor leagues. He logged 59 innings with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and posted a 4.12 ERA with a 1.44 WHIP. He tallied 55 punchouts across 59 innings while serving up 19 free passes. If he continues to progress at Triple-A, he could push to return to the majors later in the season.

The Los Angeles Angels have assigned catcher Chuckie Robinson to Triple-A Salt Lake. Robinson was competing for a depth role on the MLB roster but fell short during camp. In spring training, Robinson posted a .160/.382/.200 slash line with a 7:5 BB:K. The 30-year-old appeared in just 26 MLB contests last season with the White Sox and held a .129/.197/.129 slash line with no extra-base hits. He has spent the better part of the last three seasons playing at the Triple-A level. Last season, Robinson posted a .246/.292/.382 slash line at Triple-A, which was well below his career .272/.330/.423 line. With Robinson opening the campaign at the top level of the minor leagues, fantasy managers should expect Logan O'Hoppe and Travis d'Arnaud to see all of the work behind the dish.

The Los Angeles Angels have optioned first baseman Ryan Noda to Triple-A Salt Lake. Noda was claimed by the Angels earlier in the offseason but was unable to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster. During spring training, Noda hit just one long ball and posted a .182/.449/.364 slash line with a 15:18 BB:K. Noda has spent his entire MLB career with the Athletics. He made his MLB debut during the 2023 season and posted a .229/.364/.406 line across 128 contests. However, in 2024, Noda took a step back as he posted a .137/.255/.211 slash line with just one long ball across 36 contests. In 240 career games at Triple-A, Noda has posted a .246/.398/.488 slash line. Fantasy managers should monitor his status at Triple-A, as he should be in contention to return to the majors later in the summer.

New York Yankees right-handed pitcher Colten Brewer has been assigned to minor league camp. Brewer was competing for a spot in the bullpen. During spring training, he posted a strong 0.90 ERA with a 0.90 WHIP across 10 innings of work. During this stretch, he tallied seven strikeouts and served up three walks. However, he fell short in the competition and will likely begin his season at the Triple-A level. Last summer, Brewer logged 20 2/3 innings in the major leagues and posted a 5.66 ERA with a high 1.60 WHIP. Across 120 career innings in the majors, Brewer has held a 5.10 ERA with a 1.74 WHIP. If the 32-year-old were to find his footing at Triple-A, he would contend to return to the majors. If he does return, he will likely be deployed in a low-leverage relief role.

The Los Angeles Angels have optioned outfield prospect Matthew Lugo to Triple-A Salt Lake. Lugo was in contention for a spot on the Opening Day roster but will instead begin his 2025 campaign in the minor leagues. During spring training, the former second-round selection posted a .293/.328/.466 slash line with four doubles and three triples. He did not go deep and held an underwhelming 2:18 BB:K ratio. Last summer, Lugo spent his entire campaign at the Triple-A level. Across 79 contests, the 23-year-old posted a .287/.376/.578 slash line with 21 doubles and 17 home runs. During the 2023 campaign, Lugo held a lower .242/.297/.381 slash line across 83 contests with Double-A. Fantasy managers should monitor his progression at Triple-A, as he may not need much time before making his MLB debut.
