Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Keeps Raking In Win

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. totaled four RBI with a steal in Wednesday evening's win over the hosting Miami Marlins at LoanDepot Park. After crushing a solo home run off Marlins right-hander Edward Cabrera to left field to extend the D-backs' lead to 3-1 in the sixth inning, Gurriel lined a bases-clearing double to center to put Arizona up 7-6 in the seventh frame. He then added an RBI single in the ninth for good measure. In his last 23 outings, the 30-year-old lefty-mashing left fielder is hitting a strong .342 (27-for-79) with two homers, nine RBI, and 16 runs scored,

Chandler Simpson Swipes 86th Bag On Wednesday

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop prospect Chandler Simpson went 2-for-3 with a walk and stole his MiLB league-leading 86th stolen base after a two-steal game on Wednesday for Double-A Montgomery. While the 23-year-old is rightfully known for speed, he's been able to hit well across two levels of the minors this season, batting .358 on the back of a minuscule 8.6% K%. The left-handed hitter has been able to draw a nearly-equivalent amount of walks at 8.4% as well, leading to a superb .411 OBP on the season. He appears to be knocking on the door of Triple-A, and per MLB.com, Simpson should make his MLB debut next season. With his speed, he's likely already emblazoned his name on the memories of dynasty managers after stealing 94 bases in 2023, but dynasty managers and redraft managers alike should be on the lookout for next year's ascension.

Chandler Redmond Promoted To Triple-A

St. Louis Cardinals first base prospect Chandler Redmond was promoted to Triple-A Memphis, going 1-for-3 with a walk in his debut on Wednesday. Despite hitting 31 home runs and collecting 92 RBI last season at Double-A, Redmond began this season at Double-A. Even though the 27-year-old was slashing .231/.325/.354 with just nine home runs in 83 games, the Cardinals promoted him for his first taste of Triple-A pitching. Known for hitting for the home run cycle during his 2023 season, Redmond has had high strikeout rates throughout his minor league career that have perhaps held him back, but he'll get a shot to prove himself at the top level of the minors. As for fantasy. he's a name to keep in the back of your head in the event his power stroke earns him a promotion to the big leagues at some point next season.

Bryce Eldridge Continues To Show Power

San Francisco Giants first base prospect Bryce Eldridge went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs and a three-run home run for High-A Eugene on Wednesday. Eldridge, 19, was the Giants first-round pick in 2023 and comes in as the teams No. 1 prospect per MLB Pipeline. The first baseman opened the season with Single-A San Jose before a promotion to Eugene, where he has played his last 39 games. Between both levels, Eldridge has hit a combined .286 with 17 homers and 78 RBI in 346 at-bats. Standing tall at 6'7, 223 pounds, the first baseman offers some of the best raw power from the left side of the plate and is also a disciplined hitter. It will be a few seasons before his potential big-league debut, but he is a name to keep track of in dynasty leagues.

Ethan Salas Hits Another Double

San Diego Padres catcher prospect Ethan Salas went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles for High-A Fort Wayne on Wednesday. Salas has now hit in 14 straight games and is fourth in the Midwest League with 23 doubles. Salas, 18, has been one of the most hyped prospects on the farm, but has hit just .204 on the season with four homers and 42 RBI. Although he is one of the youngest players at his level, his bat has slowed down in 2024, but scouts believe it could be due to elevating the ball more than he has in the past. Regardless, Salas should continue to grow into his body and another year at High-A could do him well. At such a young age, his potential remains very high and managers in dynasty leagues shouldn't worry at the moment.
