Ranger Suarez's Scoreless Streak Ends, Improves To 5-0

Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez (5-0) allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out eight over eight innings in Saturday's 5-1 win over the San Diego Padres. Suarez was brilliant on Saturday and picked up his fifth win of the season. The 28-year-old's scoreless inning streak ended 32 2/3 frames after he surrendered a solo shot to Eguy Rosario in the eighth inning. His breakout season continues as Suarez owns a 1.32 ERA, 0.63 WHIP, and 40 strikeouts over 41 innings in 2024. Suarez will look to continue his impressive season in his next start at home against the San Francisco Giants.

Tyler Stephenson Fine After HBP

Cincinnati Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson (hand) was removed from Saturday's game against the Texas Rangers for precautionary reasons. Stephenson was hit in the right hand by a pitch and replaced in the game by Luke Maile. The 27-year-old went 1-for-2 with a run scored before being removed. According to Reds manager David Bell, the removal of Stephenson was precautionary. Stephenson avoided a severe injury and could be back for Sunday's series finale against the Rangers. He is slashing .231/.338/.415 with three home runs, 10 RBI, 12 runs, and a stolen base over 23 games in 2024. Stephenson is expected to be fine and solid fantasy option in two-catcher formats.

Andrew Benintendi Homers Twice, Collects Six RBI On Saturday

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi went 3-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI during Saturday's 8-7 extra-inning win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Benintendi blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth inning to tie the game 3-3. He later logged an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning to put the Sox up 6-4. Benintendi blasted the walk-off two-run shot in the bottom of the tenth inning, sending the White Sox to victory. The 29-year-old is slashing .191/.224/.277 with two home runs and 10 RBI over 24 games in 2024. Despite the breakout performance, Benintendi is mainly an option in deep-league formats.

Matt Brash Shut Down After Setback

Seattle Mariners right-hander Matt Brash (elbow) has been shut down after having a setback with his right elbow while playing catch Friday. He will head to Dallas to see Dr. Meister to evaluate his injured elbow further. Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said he is "concerned" about the latest setback for Brash. The 25-year-old is considered day-to-day, but the latest news is that his rehab assignment has been paused. Brash had been sidelined all season after landing on the injured list with inflammation on his right elbow. Andres Munoz will remain Seattle's primary closer, while Ryne Stanek will handle high-leverage situations with Brash sidelined.

Jordan Wicks Won't Start Sunday Due To Forearm Tightness

Chicago Cubs left-hander Jordan Wicks (forearm) will not start in Sunday's game against the Boston Red Sox due to left forearm tightness. Wicks picked up the injury after his last start between Saturday and his previous start on Tuesday. The 24-year-old is considered day-to-day and will miss at least one start. Hayden Wesneski will replace Wicks on Sunday. Wesneski owns a 0.16 WHIP and a 3:0 K: BB across 6 1/3 innings in 2024. The Red Sox offense just put up 17 runs on the Cubs and is firing on all cylinders heading into the series finale, making Wesneski a risky fantasy streamer or DFS play on Sunday.
