Welcome to the prop bet tracker. As MLB season gets into high gear, another way to get in on the action is to analyze the day’s best prop bets – from strikeouts to home runs, first to five runs to total bases logged.
Each day, we will try and identify a few picks that are ready to explode in the prop market.
Adbert Alzolay Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+113, FanDuel)
I think you have heard me beat this drum here — the Cardinals offense is a top-10 offense against southpaws. Against righties? Not so much. They are one of the league's worst in terms of team wOBA (.292) and strike out at a 23.3% clip. Alzolay has quietly been very solid. Spend up here.
Robbie Ray Over 7.5 Strikeouts (-113, FanDuel)
I can't believe that me and tight pants Robbie Ray (if you haven't seen these things, they are a beauty) are gonna dance, but here we are. Ray has whiffed 9-plus batter in three straight outings and foru of his last five. And the Rays? They sport a strikeout rate north of 29% against southpaws. I guess we are gonna dance.
Sonny Gray Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-149, BetMGM)
If Gray can start controlling the free passes here, we have a guy in Spincinnati who is ready to dominate. Gray has been really good, but the elevated walk rate (11.3%) has really gotten him into some tricky situations. Now the good news — he's still whiffing plenty of dudes, and the Brewers are a swinging and missing a ton (9.89 strikeouts per nine innings pitched).
