2024 Team Stats

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (back) remains out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. Buxton came down with some lower-back stiffness after crashing into the outfield wall on Sunday against the White Sox and will now miss his third straight game. It doesn't sound like a very serious injury, but given the 30-year-old's lengthy injury history, fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if he eventually lands on the 10-day injured list if he isn't able to get back on the field by the weekend. Minnesota has a day off on Thursday, so check back on Friday to see if he's available for a scheduled doubleheader against the division-rival Cleveland Guardians. Austin Martin is in center field on Wednesday and is batting eighth against Cubs right-hander Javier Assad.

Minnesota Twins third baseman Royce Lewis went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in a 7-3 loss against the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday. He was responsible for one of the three Minnesota hits, scoring two of the three runs in Tuesday's loss. The former No. 1 overall pick has been dealing with injuries and limited to just 35 games this season. He is slashing .280/.357/.680 with 14 HR and 31 RBI across 143 plate appearances in 2024. As the Twins fight for a playoff spot, they will look for Lewis to keep swinging the bat well and help lead them down the stretch.

Minnesota Twins infielder Brooks Lee (shoulder) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Lee will make his return to the field after missing two games due to right shoulder soreness. The rookie infielder has 23 hits with two home runs and 14 RBI since receiving the call to the big leagues. He'll cover second base and bat ninth versus southpaw Shota Imanaga on Tuesday.

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (back) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Buxton was forced to exit early on Sunday and will now miss his second game in a row due to back tightness. This doesn't seem to be the kind of issue that would require a trip to the injured list. For now, fantasy managers should consider Buxton as day-to-day. In his place, Austin Martin will cover center field and bat sixth versus left-hander Shota Imanaga on Tuesday.

Minnesota Twins relief pitcher Griffin Jax picked up his eighth save of the season in Monday's 3-0 win over the Cubs. Jax came on to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning up by three. He got the first out on a ground-out, allowed a single, and got the final two outs on a strikeout and another ground-out. Jhoan Duran pitched the eighth inning in this one, and while he is considered the fantasy arm to roster, he has only seen four more save opportunities this season than Jax. Jax has pitched well, converting eight of 12 save opportunities with 17 holds to go with a 2.01 ERA, an 11.86 K/9 rate, and a 2.19 BB/9 rate. He is currently rostered in 45% of leagues, so he may still be out there in deeper roto leagues.
